Having opened a New York-style bar and a New York-style café, it’s only fitting that Coach has now opened a New York-style restaurant, called The Coach Restaurant, in Singapore.

The American fashion brand unveiled its latest dining concept at Jewel Changi Airport with a glitzy gathering of stars from around the region. The Coach Restaurant’s first diners included Thai celebrities Nanon Korapat, Love Pattranite and Force Jiratchapong; Indonesian It-couple Syifa Hadju and El Rumi; and GRAZIA Girls Estelle Fly and Sonia Chew.

The Coach Restaurant has more than enough room to accommodate all that star power. The sleek dining space can seat a total of 56 guests across various settings. There are plush leather booths curved around wooden tables, perfect for a family or a group of friends. There are tables facing the lush greenery of the Jewel Rain Vortex, for those who like to dine with a view. There is a 10-seater bar, where you can watch dapper bartenders whip up a classic martini or one Coach’s dessert-inspired cocktails, including “Waffled Up” and “Manhattan Cheesecake”. Or you can sit by the chef’s counter, facing the open woodfire kitchen where all the action happens.

Staying true to the American brand’s origins, The Coach Restaurant is fashioned after a classic dining institution in New York City: the steakhouse. At the helm is head chef Kurt Sombero, who earned his chops at local woodfire restaurants like Burnt Ends and Meatsmith. Sombrero’s involvement makes all the difference: at the private media preview, guests remarked that the steaks are far better in the Singapore outpost than those served at the first Coach Restaurant, which opened in Jakarta in 2024.

Here, you can choose to have Japanese Satsuma Wagyu A5 beef or USDA Prime cuts; the latter is offered as a porterhouse, a hefty, meaty cut that is a staple of New York City’s steakhouse culture. Charmingly, every steak is topped with butter in the shape of Coach’s “Signature C” logo.

The Coach Restaurant will satisfy seafood lovers too. Decadent dishes like Maine Lobster or Dover Sole for two can be cooked on the woodfire grill, while raw options include the Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail and plump, freshly shucked Washington State Oysters, served with blackberry mignonette and grated horseradish.

Besides recreating the New York City steakhouse experience, The Coach Restaurant also nods to the city’s vibrant streets. We’re not just talking about the life-sized yellow cab that’s mounted upside down on the ceiling. The restaurant serves all the comforting classics you would typically find at a New York City food cart, including pizza slices, hot dogs, and Coach’s very own cheeseburger made with a delicious “secret sauce”. If you’re there with friends, be sure to order The Chicken Bucket, comprising crispy chicken drumsticks served in a fancy, leather-covered bucket. The drumsticks are perfectly seasoned, but be sure to dip them into the restaurant’s homemade ranch, hot honey and hot sauces. You’ll be in heaven.

Those with a sweet tooth can take a bite out of the towering slices of the 20-layer Chocolate Cake or the New York Cheesecake, topped with juicy fruit compote. You can also indulge in the PB&J Baked Alaska that is impressively topped with meringue peaks.

It goes without saying that the food, like the restaurant itself, is Instagram-worthy. Coach is a fashion brand first and foremost, so it does everything in impeccable style. The Coach Restaurant stands out among other dining establishments at Jewel Changi Airport with its bronze mirror walls and terrazzo tiles; you’ll also find notes of Coach’s heritage peppered throughout the dining experience, be it in the form of C-shaped condiments or the glove-tanned leather used to adorn the menu covers and placemats.

Another unique point: The restaurant is also connected to a Coach boutique, so you can find your new favourite leather bag after enjoying a sumptuous meal. The fashionable foodies among Coach’s clientele would expect nothing less than that.
