First unveiled in 2015, Apple’s long-standing collaboration with Hermès remains as strong as ever, with exciting new updates introduced at the tech giant’s annual September Keynote event. While the spotlight often shines on the latest iPhone releases, the Apple Watch lineup has also seen noteworthy developments, including enhancements in case sizes, display technology, and battery life.

The new Apple Watch Hermès collection boasts new watch bands and adapted designs, while maintaining the cutting-edge hardware and software that defines the Apple Watch experience.

Here’s everything new in this year’s collection.

Updated Case and Screen Sizes

This year’s Apple Watch introduces slightly larger cases, moving from 41mm and 45mm to 42mm and 46mm, a subtle adjustment made to accommodate a display that’s 30% larger than its predecessor, the Apple Watch Series 6.

These new dimensions also extend to the Apple Watch Hermès, which is now available with a silver titanium case that mirrors the timeless look of earlier stainless steel models.

Worried about compatibility with your older watch bands? You’d be happy to hear that the bands designed for the 41mm and 45mm cases will still fit the updated sizes, making it easy to transition without losing your collection of Hermès straps.

New Bands

One of the standout developments in the Apple Watch and Hermès partnership is the debut of a metal band—a first for this luxurious range.

The “Grand H” design reinterprets classic watchmaking elements in a way that complements the Apple Watch’s modern aesthetic. Made from stainless steel, this elegant band features fluid, removable links for a customised fit and is secured by a traditional double butterfly clasp, complete with an ‘H’ motif.

Besides that, the new Torsade band, inspired by Hermès’ historic nautical chain motifs, offers both single and double tour versions and is available in a trio of colours, including Grenat and Navy.

A fresh take on the Twill Jump Attelage band also makes its debut. This slim, single tour band boasts a luxurious, silky texture and a contrasting edge, paying homage to the Maison’s renowned precision in edge painting.

For those seeking a more rugged look, the Kilim band—made from soft, waterproof rubber and embossed with a geometric ‘H’—offers a sporty alternative, featuring a quick-release deployment buckle for added security.

If you already own an Apple Watch Hermès, you’ll be pleased to know that the new bands are fully compatible with earlier models, allowing for seamless upgrades.

At the keynote, Apple also announced that the Hermès collaboration now extends to the Apple Watch Ultra 2.

This premium version caters to adventurers with a refined yet sporty design. The debut En Mer band, crafted for both water and intense workouts, comes with a titanium buckle and the signature ‘H’ motif.

Additionally, the watch also introduces the new Hermès Maritime watch face, which notably displays the time in a digital format, a first for any watch face in this collaboration. There’s also a regatta countdown timer—perfect for sailing enthusiasts.
