Celebrity stylist Law Roach has announced his retirement.
Just days after he dressed several celebrities at the Oscars After Party—including Hunter Schafer in Ann Demeulemeester— the celebrity stylist shared via Instagram that he was done with the fashion world.
“My cup is empty,” he wrote in the caption. “Thank you to everyone who’ve supported me and my career over the years. Every person that trusted me with their image, I’m so grateful for you all.”

He then gave some insight into the reasoning behind his retirement, implicating a brutal side of the industry.
“If this business was just about the clothes, I would do it for the rest of my life, but unfortunately, it’s not!” he wrote.
“The politics, the lies and the false narratives finally got me! You win… I’m out.”
Though Roach is yet to elaborate on these comments, fans, editors, bloggers, and celebrities alike rushed to flood the comments with support—and concern—over the move.
Close friend Naomi Campbell commented, “Law I won’t let you !!!! We don’t quit .. strived to hard” while Pierpaolo Piccioli, creative director of Valentino who has worked closely with Roach and Zendaya, wrote “No way.”
Though it’s impossible to overstate Law Roach’s impact on fashion and Hollywood, his work has been the highlight of any red carpet, particularly in recent years.
Known better to some as @LuxuryLaw on Instagram, the stylist’s career really took a turn when he began working with actress Zendaya. Together, they created some of our favourite red carpet looks of all time and solidified Zendaya‘s place as a fashion darling. Roach was even the fairy godmother to Zendaya’s Cinderella gown at the 2019 Met Gala.

In 2021, the actress won the CFDA Fashion Icon Award while wearing a Vera Wang two-piece set. In her acceptance speech, she praised Roach’s sartorial prowess. “Thankfully, when I was 14, I found my co-director of sorts. One who saw what I did and sometimes, more than I ever could have imagined on my own, that being Law Roach,” she said. “My fashion soulmate, historian, and constant inspiration—thank you for pushing me to see all of myself and teaching me how to do so fearlessly.”
Naturally, Roach has quickly become a sought-after stylist, tapped by many fashion-forward celebrities, including Megan Thee Stallion, Hunter Schafer, Kerry Washington, Celine Dion, Emma Watson, Ariana Grande, Priyanka Chopra, Issa Rae, Lindsay Lohan and more.
