Don’t miss the first Moschino show by creative director Adrian Appiolaza, live from Milan Fashion Week
Adrian Appiolaza, the new creative director of Moschino, is showing his first collection for the brand at Milan Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2024

It’s a new dawn for Moschino. Following the departure of Jeremy Scott, Adrian Appiolaza was appointed as the creative director of the Italian fashion brand. At its helm, Appiolaza will oversee the women’s, men’s and accessories collections. He is now set to present his first Moschino show for Fall/Winter 2024 at the Museo della Permanente during Milan Fashion Week.

The show will also mark the first time that Appiolaza steps into the spotlight. Previously, the 51-year-old worked with a string of influential fashion designers, including Alexander McQueen at his namesake label, Phoebe Philo at Chloé, Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton and Miuccia Prada at Miu Miu. Before joining Moschino, Appiolaza was the design director at Loewe, where he worked alongside Jonathan Anderson and had a hand in crafting Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour looks

Appiolaza’s first Moschino collection draws from the the surreal universe built by the brand’s founder, Franco Moschino, in the ‘80s and ‘90s. After looking through the archives, Appiolaza noted that there is an emphasis on volume, silhouettes, and characters in Moschino’s collections. Like Moschino, Appiolaza also intends to inject joy and humour into his designs. He told Vogue, “What I know for a fact is my aim is to send as positive and joyful a message as possible.”

The location of Moschino’s upcoming show is also significant. The Museo della Permanente in Italy previously hosted the exhibition, Moschino – X anni di Kaos! 1983-1993, celebrating the first decade of the brand.

The Moschino Fall/Winter 2024 fashion show takes place in Milan on 23 February at 1.00 am (Singapore time). Stream it below.
