Under the creative direction of Matteo Tamburini, TOD’s debuted its Spring/Summer 2025 show in Milan, which played out like a journey along the Mediterranean coast. Celebrating its Italian heritage, the collection emphasised an intersection of traditional craftsmanship and modern luxury, where each piece spoke to the essence of La Dolce Vita in its everyday ease—think refined, relaxed, and quietly luxurious clothing that instantly activates holiday mode.
Set against the backdrop of monumental sculptures by Lorenzo Quinn—two hands gripping crossed leather bands symbolising artisanal excellence—the collection resonated with TOD’S commitment to ‘Made in Italy’ values, an ethos that was echoed throughout the show in the kind of premium materials and exquisite tailoring that the country is known for.
For this season, Tamburini sees the iconic trench coat reimagined with fluid volumes in cotton and leather, while resin-coated windbreakers and ultra-light Nappa leather jackets bring a modern appeal. Tailored pieces, including cropped jackets and cinched blazers, elevated more breezy silhouettes, as neutral tones—stone, sand, bronze, reds, greens and yellows were inspired by the vibrant local landscapes—and organically shaped accessories infused the collection with an earthy sophistication.
Elsewhere, the iconic ‘Gommino‘ shoe took centre stage, and this season, it appeared as a new “glove” model with hand-woven leather rings as a fresh signature detail. The house’s sleek “Barretta” accessory also enriched sandals, adding polish to effortless summer essentials. The handbag offering continued this theme of craftsmanship, with the house’s Di Bag Swing, Hobo, and bucket bag styles in brushed calfskin showcasing fresh colourways in bronze and ochre tones.
As an ode to the sensibilities of Italian design, TOD’S Spring/Summer 2025 demonstrates the elegance achieved through intuitive craftsmanship. Though we’re often led to believe that the height of luxury looks something like a head-to-toe monogrammed designer, Tamburini masterfully presents the richness of simplicity, where all the considerations of getting dressed are already taken care of from the very start.
