Venice may not usually be a stop of the usual fashion month circuit, but it’s become a hot ticket for being home to one of the most prestigious cultural events of the year: the Venice Biennale. Encompassing a range of art forms, including visual arts, architecture, cinema, dance, music, and theatre, the festival showcases a melting pot of talent, all masters of their craft.

This year, as part of an enduring commitment to its Italian roots, TOD’S has partnered with Italia Pavilion at the Biennale Arte 2024 for the installation of “Due qui / To Hear,” featuring curator Luca Cerizza and artist Massimo Bartolini. This initiative aims to further amplify and protect local art and cultural heritage in Italy, an irreplaceable resource recognised worldwide.

Better yet, in celebration of this partnership, TOD’S has launched a limited-edition collection dedicated to Biennale: the iconic ‘Gommino’ loafers and the ‘T Timeless’ shopping bag, introduced during the pre-opening days of the Biennale Arte 2024.

With an emphatic and refined style, hand-stitched Gommino shoes in both men’s and women’s versions, as well as the T Timeless shopping bag, constructed with overlapping panels of plush leather, lined in suede calf and closed with double handles, offer us the famed craftsmanship that the leather goods house is built on. As a tribute to the city of Venice, two new colours have been selected for both models: Tiziano red and a deep blue that evokes the colours of the lagoon.

To mark this partnership, Tod’s will host an event in Venice during the pre-opening days of the 60th International Art Exhibition to celebrate Italian craftsmanship.

Of course, no modern-day fashion event is complete with the appearance of special celebrity guests. The star-studded lineup at the opening event of TOD’S The Art Of Craftsmanship exhibition included Red Velvet’s Joy, who is also an ambassador for the Italian brand, as well as Keita Machida, a Friend of TOD’S. Other notable guests included Zhang Ziyi, Pia Wurtzbach and Liv Perez.
