Around this time of the year, it is tempting for city dwellers to leave their busy locale and head to somewhere quieter. The countryside, with its simple pleasures, verdant landscapes and promise of fresh air, offers that dramatic change of scenery that many of us seek out. But that doesn’t mean that we also need a dramatic change of wardrobe for the trip—not if you’re a Longchamp woman.
For Spring/Summer 2025, the French fashion brand has unveiled a collection of playful and vibrant pieces that will appeal to women on the move—be it on concrete streets or along a garden path. Think rustic chic ensembles, like breezy gingham dresses, crisp broderie anglaise shirts and shorts, and minidresses that take stylistic cues from gardening overalls.
To complete the look, Longchamp has also unveiled fresh new styles of the city girl’s favourite bag: Le Roseau. The bag, like Longchamp’s new collection, is originally inspired by nature. It takes its name from the French word for “reed”, and its signature detail is a reed-like metal bamboo clasp.
This season, the Le Roseau bag collection comes with as much variety as you would see in a vegetable patch. There is the XL tote bag, which is spacious enough to fit all your everyday essentials—or farmers’ market finds—while staying lightweight, thanks to its cotton canvas fabric. There is the slim crossbody bag, a new style inspired by the design of a gardener’s apron, in which you can fit your phone, credit cards and a pair of sunglasses. Longchamp also offers its elegant take on the hobo bag, one of the more popular bag silhouettes this season, and adorns it with the bamboo clasp, now refreshed in pale gold.

Besides shapes, Longchamp also plays with colours and materials across its new Le Roseau accessories. The French fashion brand drew upon the lively hues of summer vegetables, resulting in a colour palette that includes Orange, Beetroot red, the artichoke-inspired Green Light. On the Le Roseau XS handbag, those shades look especially delicious. In terms of neutrals, Longchamp has also introduced the shades Ginger, Root and Bark for this season. These subdued hues take centre stage on the Le Roseau S handbag and the XS Bucket bag, which for the first time have been crafted in smooth, supple calfskin leather.
Those looking for something striking, however, can turn to the XL tote in gingham, which is perfect for a picnic. There is also a special edition of the XS Bucket bag made from washed blue denim and embroidered with white flowers. Much like the countryside, Longchamp’s Le Roseau bags continue to delight, season after season.
