When discussing the biggest girl groups in the world, Twice’s name is bound to pop up. Leading the K-pop group is none other than Park Jihyo, the charismatic leader and main vocalist who has captured the hearts of fans around the globe with her magnetic stage presence, exemplary leadership skills and powerhouse vocals.

Affectionately dubbed as God-Jihyo by her fans, her nickname speaks volumes about her unparalleled musical talent. That’s no surprise, considering the songstress has been honing her craft since the tender age of eight. Her foray into the music industry began when she ranked second in a contest on Junior Naver, ultimately leading her to sign with JYP Entertainment. Fast-forward to a decade later, she competed in the reality television program, Sixteen (2015) and was selected as one of the nine members of Twice.

Since their debut in 2015, Twice has soared to remarkable heights of success, clinching over 18 Daesang awards and securing their place in history as the girl group with the most Daesang wins. Just last year, Jihyo made a highly-anticipated solo debut with her EP Zone led by the single Killin’ Me Good which showcased her versatility as an artist, demonstrating her talent not only as a singer and dancer but also as a skilled composer and songwriter.

In celebration of Jihyo as GRAZIA Singapore’s upcoming cover star, let’s take a closer look at some of her impeccable off-duty style moments.

Following Zendaya’s Challengers tour outfits, tenniscore is the trend you need to have on your radar this summer. Here, Jihyo showed us how to ace the country-club aesthetic. Her must-have essentials include a stylish pleated skirt, a diamond pattern knit vest and crisp white sneakers. Don’t forget to throw on a baseball cap and a long pair of socks to complete the sporty-chic look.

Ballet Flats

If you’ve spent a substantial time on Tiktok, you’ll probably know that the coquette aesthetic is taking the internet by storm right now. It’s all about embracing ribbons, lace and the colour pink–or anything that screams girlhood. Jihyo perfectly embodied this hyper-feminine aesthetic, resembling a graceful ballerina in a baby pink off-shoulder top and chiffon white mini skirt. She slipped into a pair of white ballet flats adorned with a bow and paired it with leg warmers to seal the look.

Blazers

When attending formal events, Jihyo gravitates towards the sharp and polished silhouettes of blazers. At the Gucci Ancora Exhibition in Seoul, she made a statement in the opening look of the house’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection, featuring a black blazer coat layered over a singlet and mini shorts. For accessories, she went for the Gucci Jackie handbag fashioned in red patent leather that elevated the sophisticated allure of her ensemble. The singer also made an appearance at Fred Joailier’s Force 10 pop-up event in Seoul, she exuded elegance in an ensemble consisting of an elegant white blazer vest paired with matching trousers.

Sand-Washed Jeans

First came the return of baggy jeans followed by low rise jeans. Now? Sand-washed jeans are the next big thing, all thanks to the resurgence of the Y2K aesthetic. Jihyo’s street style can be described as a mix between minimalist and casual, often rocking crop tops and denim jeans. Here, she looked effortlessly cool in a pair of light-washed jeans with yellow undertones and a white halter top.

Summer Dresses

On hot summer days, Jihyo finds comfort and style in simple breezy dresses. These dresses can be dressed up or down, depending on how you style it. For an elevated look, Jihyo opted for a white dress with a chic square neckline and paired it with brown cowboy boots. In another photo, she embraced the dress-over-pants trend by layering a white crochet dress over blue jeans for a laid-back look.

Puffer Bags

Ever since COS introduced its quilted shoulder bag that was popularised by Blackpink’s Jennie, puffy bags have become all the rage. With its cosy silhouette and soft texture, it’s easy to see why these bags have won everyone over. Jihyo was spotted carrying a cream puffer shoulder bag from Marni which effortlessly complemented her double denim ensemble.

Varsity Jackets

Varsity jackets hold immense popularity in South Korea, and Jihyo seems to have a particular fondness for them. Based on her Instagram posts, it’s evident that her go-to outerwear choice is a classic, old varsity jacket. To stay cosy during the chilly weather, she bundled up in a baggy black varsity jacket that instantly amped up her street-style game. And for a preppy schoolgirl look, she switched it up with a cream-coloured varsity cardigan.

Knee-High Boots

Knee-high boots are a winter wardrobe staple. Whether paired with skinny jeans, knitted sweaters or mini dresses, they have the power to elevate any ensemble to new heights of style. For a girl’s night out, Jihyo showcased her impeccable style by donning a stylish black coat adorned with intricate button detailing and a sleek pair of black leather knee-high boots.
