Since embarking on her solo endeavours earlier this year, Blackpink’s Lisa has been on a whirlwind adventure around the globe. From attending Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Singapore to gracing the front row of Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2024 fashion show in Paris, her year has been filled with exciting escapades.
Lately, the K-pop idol has been making waves for her unexpected appearance at the Formula 1 Grand Prix—she made a pit stop at the Monaco Grand Prix over the weekend, dazzling in a custom Pipatchara two-piece set that was crafted with 1,800 pieces of trash comprising 80% plastic bottle caps and 20% plastic containers. She completed the look with a pair of nude strappy heels and an exclusive edition of Louis Vuitton’s Nano Speedy bag made in collaboration with Chinese artist Sun Yitian.
Founded by sisters Pipatchara and Jittrinee Kaeojinda, Pipatchara is an up-and-coming Thailand-based fashion label with a focus on sustainability and community engagement. The brand prides itself in its 100% handmade bags, skillfully crafted by local Thai villagers who have mastered the art of macramé hand-knotting techniques. These bags have made a name for themselves even in the West, adorning the arms of Hollywood celebrities such as Anne Hathaway, Kate Hudson and Olivia Rodrigo.
For the actual race, Lisa shared her off-duty look on Instagram, rocking a pinstripe dress from Dsquared2. She layered the bustier dress over a blue striped button-up from the same brand and paired it with a classic black leather handbag from Louis Vuitton and modern white loafers.
Just last month, the K-pop idol was invited to wave the ceremonial checkered flag at the F1 Miami Grand Prix. Among the sea of stars who turned up at the race with show-stopping ensembles, Lisa undeniably stole the spotlight as the best-dressed attendee. In true biker fashion, she was decked out in a sand-washed denim set from Acne Studios’s Spring 2024 collection that featured a micro mini skirt and an edgy moto jacket with flared sleeves.
Tying the look together was her cheeky helmet handbag from Boyy which resembled a motorcycle helmet that was cleverly designed with a zippered compartment replacing the headspace. To top it off, she threw on some black leather combat boots and styled her hair into playful space buns, really driving home the playful vibe.
