Seventeen: Our Chapter

Carats, get ready for a deep dive into the world of Seventeen that’s equal parts thrilling and emotional. This four-part docuseries follows the group as they near their 10th anniversary, seeing them reflect on their journey to the top of K-pop and also look out into the future, where they face the prospect of temporary member absences for the first time. In a touching gesture, Seventeen’s fandom is also listed as a featured character on the series’ poster, making it an emotional tribute to ten years of making music and memories.

Seventeen: Our Chapter will premiere on Disney+ on 7 November.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Marvel’s First Family is finally making their streaming debut. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the latest big screen entry to the Marvel canon, and it takes us all the way back to the retro-futuristic world of the 1960s. Starring Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as a super-powered family taking on a space god and his silver sidekick, The Fantastic Four is a captivating and heartwarming comic book flick that captures the best of the Marvel universe. Whether you missed it in theatres or it’s for a repeat viewing, it’s a movie well worth adding to your November watchlist.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is streaming now on Disney+.

Kopitiam Days

Kopi stall fare and kaya toast breakfasts may be ubiquitous here in Singapore, but it’s not often we see the slower and quieter side of our city represented on the silver screen. Kopitiam Days is an anthology created in conjunction with SG60 that sees young local filmmakers spotlight Singaporean stories in a series of short films. The result is a charming and nostalgic watch that delves into themes of family, technology, love, and more, all unified by kopitiams as a common setting. As Kopitiam Days never received a wide theatrical release in Singapore, its Netflix debut is the perfect opportunity to discover local voices that are often underrepresented on screen.

Kopitiam Days will premiere on Netflix on 5 November.

Weapons

In case you missed watching this cult horror hit when it was in theatres, now’s your chance to find out what the hype was all about. We’ll let Weapons’ eerie tagline do the talking: “Last night at 2:17 am, every child from Mrs. Gandy’s class woke up, got out of bed, went downstairs, opened the front door, walked into the dark… and they never came back.” If that haunting premise doesn’t have you hooked already, then the promise of gripping performances by Josh Brolin, Julia Garner, and Benedict Wong should do the trick. We might be past Halloween, but it’s never too late for a good scare.

Weapons is streaming now on HBO Max.

Wicked: One Wonderful Night

The excitement is ramping up for the release of Wicked: For Good in theatres on 20 November. Luckily for all the die-hard fans out there, Wicked: One Wonderful Night promises to tide us over until the big day with an extravagant two-hour musical TV special at the Dolby Theatre. Aside from appearances from Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Michelle Yeoh, and most of the movie’s main cast, the special also promises behind-the-scenes exclusives and snippets of the two original songs in Wicked: For Good. Make sure to hold space in your calendar this Friday for a wickedly good streaming experience.

Wicked: One Wonderful Night will premiere on HBO Max on 7 November.

Taxi Driver, Season 3

The Rainbow Taxi crew is revving their engines once again, itching to serve up more vigilante justice. In this new season of hit K-drama Taxi Driver, expect sharper missions, deeper backstories, and moral dilemmas that hit harder than ever. Lee Je-hoon returns behind the wheel as Kim Do-gi, ready to take on corruption with precision, and maybe with a few new tricks up his sleeve. If you haven’t had the chance to catch the first two seasons of this action-packed Viu original, you’ve got a couple of weeks to get up to speed before the latest season hits our screens.

Season 3 of Taxi Driver will premiere on Viu on 21 November.

Dear X

This deviously thrilling K-drama series is based on a webcomic and sees Kim You-jung star as a femme fatale with a dark secret. Kim plays Baek Ah-jin, a successful and widely beloved actress who isn’t afraid to manipulate and scheme her way to the top—and when a trusted friend turns on her, she pulls out every conniving trick in the book to get her revenge. The series isn’t afraid to dive into the darker aspects of celebrity and fame, but is balanced with a playful noir tone that makes for a compelling watch.

Dear X will premiere on HBO Max on 6 November.
