Following the tradition of its global cruise shows, Chanel will be heading to the oldest city of France, Marseille, to present its Cruise 2025 collection. In a teaser film directed by Ladj Ly, Chanel offers us a tantalising glimpse into the dynamic city of Marseille and its vibrant culture. We see French ballerina and actress Marion Barbeau sailing to the southern city of France, only to find herself unexpectedly swept away by a troupe of dancers. Together, they embark on a whirlwind adventure, traversing from the Vieux Port to the Cité radieuse.
For Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2024 fashion show, creative director Virginie Viard took us back to where it all began for the French fashion brand: Gabrielle Chanel’s first boutique at Deauville, a charming seaside resort in France. Models graced the runway donning wide-brimmed sun hats and tweed maxi dresses. Many were quick to comment that the show was imbued with the spirit of the cruise collection, which leaves us wondering what Viard will bring to the table for Chanel’s upcoming Cruise 2025 show.
