Luck has long been woven into the fabric of Van Cleef & Arpels’s identity. From its iconic Alhambra motif to creations that have adorned the most elegant of wearers, the maison has always believed in the power of serendipity.

This belief finds its most poetic expression in the arrival of spring—a season that holds particular significance as a time of renewal, transformation, and boundless possibility. It is this spirit of awakening that Van Cleef & Arpels captures each year in its Lucky Spring collection, celebrating nature’s endless vitality and the promise of new beginnings.

Introduced in 2021, the Lucky Spring collection embodies the maison’s enduring optimism, celebrating nature and luck. This year, Van Cleef & Arpels once again partners with French designer Alexandre Benjamin Navet, who paints the maison’s garden in radiant hues, offering a vibrant backdrop to the collection’s enchanting pieces.

The Lucky Spring collection is a symphony of rose gold, white mother-of-pearl, onyx, and carnelian—a harmonious palette that mirrors the wonders of nature. Drawing inspiration from three symbolic elements, the collection features lily of the valley buds, ladybugs, and plum blossoms, each carrying its own tale of renewal and serendipity.

As one of the first flowers to blossom in winter, the plum blossom stands as a metaphor for resilience, heralding the arrival of spring with its five rounded petals, rendered in luminous mother-of-pearl. Its delicate iridescence captures the essence of fleeting beauty, frozen in time by masterful craftsmanship.

Among the maison’s menagerie, the ladybug emerges as a quintessential symbol of luck. In the collection’s rings and clips, it flutters alongside a plum blossom and a lily of the valley bud, its deep black onyx and vibrant carnelian hues contrasting beautifully with the soft shimmer of mother-of-pearl. This tiny muse reappears as a pendant on bracelets and necklaces, its mirrorpolished rose gold body catching the light—ready to bring good fortune to its wearer.

At the heart of the collection lies Van Cleef & Arpels’s unwavering commitment to craftsmanship. The maison’s artisans employ the lost-wax casting technique, sculpting delicate motifs before meticulously refining the golden beads, prong settings, and polished surfaces to perfection. On pendants, bracelets, and long necklaces, each motif is finished identically on both sides, ensuring that no matter how it moves, it remains bathed in brilliance.

More than a tribute to spring, Lucky Spring is an ode to optimism, a celebration of nature’s poetry rendered in precious stones and gold. Every petal, wing, and golden bead tells a story of renewal, inviting wearers to embrace the magic of the season with elegance and whimsy.
