Beyond the cat costumes and trains embroidered with Karl Lagerfeld’s likeness, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line Of Beauty”, the latest edition of The Costume Institute Benefit at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, has witnessed an explosion of the most spectacular watches and jewellery. Here are the highlights that caught our eye.

1. Cartier

Fresh from her Oscar Best Actress win for Everything Everywhere All at Once, actress Michelle Yeoh stole the show with a regal ensemble, comprising the Cartier [Sur]naturel High Jewellery transformable necklace and earrings in platinum set with diamonds, and the Étourdissant Cartier High Jewellery ring in white gold set with diamonds and onyx.

Meanwhile, Elle Fanning selected the Cartier Collection Grain de Café necklace from 1955 in yellow gold and white gold, set with diamonds, paired with the Grain de Café ring in yellow gold and white gold, set with diamonds.

2. Omega

An Omega ambassador since 2005, Nicole Kidman selected the 1955 vintage Omega Saphette jewellery watch in white gold set with eight round diamonds, on a black suede bracelet.

3. Tiffany & Co

Tiffany & Co dressed singer Dua Lipa in the Lucida Star Necklace in platinum featuring a cushion modified brilliant-cut white diamond of over 100 carats and 82 facets, based on the proportions of the legendary Tiffany Diamond.

4. Hublot

Game of Thrones and The Last of Us star Bella Ramsey walked the Met Gala carpet with the Hublot Big Bang Steel White Diamonds 38mm watch.

5. Chanel

Chanel ambassador and Gossip Girl revival star Whitney Peak appeared in a full Chanel suite, including Rosée de Camelia earrings in white gold featuring cultured pearls and diamonds, the Révélation Diamant bracelet in white gold and diamonds, and the Diamant Evanescent ring in white gold and diamonds, all from Chanel High Jewellery.

6. Piaget

7. IWC Schaffhausen

Olympic skier extraordinaire and IWC Schaffhausen ambassador Eileen Gu toyed with timepieces for her outfit, pairing the rare IWC Tribute to Pallweber Edition “150 Years” red gold pocket watch with the IWC Portofino Automatic Day & Night 34 with a pink calfskin strap. The former, limited to 50 pieces, celebrates the brand’s 150th anniversary, and is the first pocket watch from IWC with a digital hours and minutes since the original Pallweber, while the latter is inspired by an archival IWC design.
