For Spring/Summer 2024, Hermès teases the arrival of a new blooming season with a striking hint towards floral motifs brought about by creative director Nadège Vanhee-Cybulski—an invitation to the continuous expansion of the House’s ethos and libration of craftsmanship and savoir-faire. Known for her timeless and witty design and approach to colour and form, the creative director has been galloping ahead with the Maison’s horsy history, elevating the revered house to new heights with each season.
In the previous Spring/Summer 2023 collection, Vanhee-Cybulski presented a show full of movement—a reflection on the notion of exploration and travel with clothes that flowed and moved, along with many utilitarian elements associated with the outdoors, such as bungee cords, whipstitching, light materials. A meeting of prettiness and utilitarianism, if you will.
The previous Spring/Summer season may have been a journey out to the desert in hues of earth and terracotta, but it seems this season—the house is taking a softer approach with blooming floral motifs and the feminine form as seen in the teasers. While we can be sure that the show is going to a stunner, there’s no convincing needed that the collection will have all the House codes carried through the runway.
In any case, catch the Hermès Spring/Summer 2024 show in the livestream here on 30 September, 2023 8:30pm (Singapore time).
