Once again, Miu Miu has been crowned as the top brand for the first quarter of the year, with sister brand Prada tailing closely behind in second place. Miu Miu took the world by storm when it unveiled its Fall/Winter 2024 collection at Paris Fashion Week and dropped an exciting collaboration with New Balance. The Miu Miu x New Balance 530 SL sneakers are the most coveted shoes of the season, earning the title of the hottest product of the year. The collaboration’s resounding success marked a historic moment for New Balance: the sports brand entered the The Lyst Index for the first time and secured the 15th spot. Joining the ranks at third and seventh place are a pair of Miu Miu swim shorts and polo tee that was launched in the brand’s Spring/Summer 2024 collection.
Along with New Balance, Alaïa made an impressive debut in The Lyst Index, with searches for the fashion brand soaring by over 49%. The fashion brand has been making waves for its crystal-studded Mary Janes.
Never underestimate a celebrity’s influence in dictating fashion trends. Case in point: a pair of crystal-slit jeans from Area made it to ninth place because Taylor Swift wore it to the Super Bowl. The Prong Dress from Rick Owens’s 2022 Spring/Summer collection regained popularity after Kim Kardashian, Cardi B and Paloma Elsesser were spotted wearing it.
Meanwhile, Saint Laurent entered the top five for the first time. Following the brand’s Paris Fashion Week fashion showcase, searches for Saint Laurent’s products surged by 10% in the subsequent month. This uptick was primarily driven by the high demand for the Panthos sunglasses and the iconic Le 5 à 7 bag, famously sported by celebrities such as Hailey Bieber and Laura Harrier.
