Set on the decommissioned MV John F. Kennedy, previously known as the Staten Island Ferry, Tommy Hilfiger’s Spring/Summer 2025 show was a love letter to the nautical lifestyle that has inspired the brand over the decades. With bold maritime codes energised by modern silhouettes in the brand’s signature red, white, and blue, the American designer unveiled his second collection since moving back on the NYFW schedule with a further refined luxury aesthetic.

“We’re revisiting the nautical and maritime inspirations that have defined our signature look since 1985,” said Tommy Hilfiger of the collection. “Today, it’s updated and remixed for 2025: the look has the ease of effortless summer style, but with a confidence that feels ready to step off the ferry and back into the city.”

Featuring classic Breton and Ithaca shirting stripes inspired by sailing heritage, archival regatta jackets and utility pants crafted from sail-cloth nylons and crinkled cotton, this ready-to-wear offering was designed with the same lightness and fluidity in motion demanded of sportswear, while still presenting as polished and enduring through clever shapes. Women’s capri pants in an array of solids and checks, oversized fisherman knits, crisp whites and hand-knitted polos echo this nautical theme, styled with various contrasting tailored pieces. The classic preppy style Hilfiger has built his empire on was certainly present but refreshed with linen and leather varsity jackets, chinos with deck-inspired turn-ups, and double-pleated yacht shorts. Accessories like neck-tie bandanas, hand-woven coastal slippers, and chunky rope ‘TH’ monogrammed raffia baseball caps fuse coastal cool with Ivy League opulence.

The star-studded show’s finale was galvanised by Staten Island’s own Wu-Tang Clan members Ghostface Killah, Method Man, and Raekwon, with Questlove returning to curate the soundtrack. Celebrity guests included musical talents like Tinashe, Quavo, Stray Kids’ Felix and Lee Know, Jisoo and Damson Idris, Doechii, Ayra Starr, and Patrick Schwarzenegger, alongside Never Have I Ever actress Maitreyi Ramakrishnan and T-Wave stars Pond, Phuwin, Fourth, Gemini, and many more.
