The much-awaited Seoul Fashion Week has once again graced us with its presence, and we couldn’t resist taking to the streets to observe the enlivening fashion pulse of South Korea.
On the fifth and final day of Seoul Fashion Week, the streets were buzzing with a refreshing array of relaxed outfits, with show goers embracing the baggy silhouette. Nailing the perfect balance between laid-back and chic, with statement accessories—we had our eyes glued to the range of statement bags in the arms of attendees. Though the never-failing shade of black has dominated the wardrobes of show goers this season, we couldn’t help but notice a handful of daring dressers integrating more colours into their outfits, adding a pop of vibrancy to the already stunning fashion landscape.

Day 4 of Seoul Fashion Week may see a dip in show goers thanks to the blazing weather outside, but evidently, we can still rely on the most passionate of fashionistas for some street style inspo. As the saying goes—beauty is pain, and the price in this case? Perspiration. One can never go wrong with an oversized blazer and a layered coat, as seen by attendees strutting outside the show venues. While it’s hard to say which of the style mavens may be sporting our favourite look of the bunch, but for practicality’s sake, the big pants and little shirt combination seems to be the obvious (and very much stylish) choice in our books for the affair.

In Day 3 at the Dongdaemun Design Plaza, menswear steals the limelight on the streets and on the runway. AJOBYAJO showcases a collection once again inspired by classic streetwear and the subculture that comes with it, while PEOPLE OF THE WORLD saw a melding of structured tailoring with modern sensibilities as the label collaborated with Reebok.
Outside of the show venues, attendees continue to showcase the mastery of layering as slouchy silhouettes reign the streets. While bold dressers undertake outfits in vibrant shades of orange and pink, it seems even the people of Seoul stay true to the ever-classic tone of black. Distressed denim was all the rage, and the pairing of choice? A simple shirt and accessories to top it off.

Day 2 of Seoul Fashion Week continues on strong, with more familiar faces hit the Dongdaemun Design Plaza. Homegrown top model Nicole Liew and Diamerlyn Lee share laughs in ever-chic neutral tones. The Y2K craze lives on as waistlines drop with exposed midriffs aplenty. And with Seoul’s show goers bringing their best ensembles to the streets, we’re confirming it here first that micro miniskirts are out—maxi and midi lengths are the way to go.
The colour palette of the gathering of Seoul’s most fashion forward? Neutrals seem to reign supreme as we see a plethora of timeless monochrome fits and earthy tones. If Day 2 of Seoul Fashion Week has taught us anything, its that it’s all about the accessories. Belted jorts and layered hardware elevate stylistically simpler outfits and across the board, silver seems to be the way to go.
