They say you never forget your first haute couture show—and that’s something that Singapore style star Savina Chow can attest to. While in Paris for a holiday, Chow was invited to attend the Armani Privé Fall/Winter 2024 haute couture show, where she sat front row to take in the collection that was inspired by pearls.
Long prized for their natural beauty, pearls have been associated with wisdom, purity and love in many cultures across the world. And in in these troubled times, Giorgio Armani dedicated this collection to the elegant gem from what he sensed to be a “widespread need for serenity”.
“He imagines women of quiet and seductive allure and dresses them in sculpted jackets with powerful shoulders and flowing trousers, with wrap-around overcoats, liquid tops and skirts, or in long dresses that trace the figure and allow each trembling, delicate movement of the body to be perfectly perceived,” the show notes read.
Here, exclusively for GRAZIA Singapore, Chow shares her photo diary from her afternoon at Armani Privé in Paris. From pre-show rituals to front row views, Chow gives GRAZIA the scoop from her first-ever haute couture experience.
This is my first ever haute couture fashion show and it’s such an honour to attend Armani Privé. It’s a dream come true for an ex-fashion student to see couture pieces on the runway.

Best thing about fashion week is catching up with friends!
The collection was an enchanting interpretation of a woman’s favourite stone, the pearl. I’m in awe of the incredible embroideries that decorated the looks—under the light, they looked almost like diamonds that glisten with movement. The craftsmanship is impeccable.
Finally having my dinner at 9pm, it’s summer now in Paris so sunset starts at 10.30pm!
