When Olivia Rodrigo made her surprise appearance at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, there was as much buzz for her Rodarte dress as there was for Louis Partridge, her actor-boyfriend that she had finally hard-launched. The Vampire singer looked like the ultimate ‘90s style icon in her slip dress, which was constructed from a sheer fabric adorned with a velvet floral pattern.

Mere days later, fellow It-girl Sydney Sweeney was seen in another romantic Rodarte number as well. The Euphoria star was dressed for the sunny weather on the Lido island—where the Venice Film Festival takes place—in a belted floral dress with puff sleeves and a flowing, graceful skirt.

Both Rodrigo’s and Sweeney’s outfits are simple, but stunning. The stylish stars only had to accessorise with a pair of sunglasses and a bag, and wear their hair down. Their beautiful Rodarte dresses stole the spotlight.

It’s no wonder that It-girls cannot stop wearing the feminine designs from the Los Angeles-based fashion brand, which was founded by sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy. Earlier this year, Kendall Jenner shared photos of her Easter ensemble: a white bias-cut gown in silk crepe, with ribbon bows on the shoulders, created by Rodarte. On Instagram, Jenner called it the “dress of my dreams.”

With its flattering silhouette and romantic details, the bias gown has since become a signature style for Rodarte. The fashion brand has even launched a deep burgundy version, as part of its Radarte capsule collection inspired by Beetlejuice 2.

But Rodarte has plenty of other pretty dresses to choose from. The silk and lace gowns seen on Olivia Culpo and Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan are perfect for garden parties in the summer. Icelandic musician Laufey has been dazzling on stage at her Bewitched: The Goddess Tour concerts in an array of ruffled lace dresses from the brand, which also serve as glamorous party dresses.

And if you would like to pull off the check trend of Fall/Winter 2024 in a feminine, coquette-core way, consider the pink gingham dress worn by Wicked star Ariana Grande.
