It is no secret that Rihanna has perfected maternity style. However, as she proved over the weekend in Brussels, she can also turn a beloved children’s character into couture inspiration. At the world premiere of the Smurfs movie, in which she voices Smurfette, the singer appeared in a custom baby blue Chanel set. The not quite Smurf-blue ensemble was inspired by the House’s Spring/Summer 2003 Haute Couture collection and featured 80,000 embroidered elements, including crystals and porcelain sequins, as well as 250 feathers.
The ethereal baby-doll style top featured a rosette at the centre of the bust, from where sheer chiffon delicately draped over her baby bump. Like the top, the matching skirt featured embellishments and feathers at the hem. She topped off the monochromatic look with baby blue pointed-toe pumps and minimal accessories.

The Fenty founder was joined by her partner, A$AP Rocky, who opted for a coordinating Louis Vuitton look in a striped button-down shirt paired with a brown and blue tie, as well as wide-legged slacks. He paired the look with tan loafers, keeping it from leaning too corporate with black shades and some large gold earrings.
The duo are both known for their sartorial prowess and has lately been showcasing such on a trés chic tour around Europe.

A few days earlier, the pair attended Jonathan Anderson’s debut Dior show at Paris Men’s Fashion Week, in custom Dior looks by the creative director himself. Rihanna wore a plunging white button-down with wide grey trousers, elevating the menswear look with a mint green vest with cape detailing. On top, she added another layer to the eclectic and preppy ensemble with a large mixed-pattern coat. It featured a diamond motif on the inner liner and a floral pattern on the exterior—both later seen on the runway.
Rocky, of course, showed up in a rebellious collegiate look of his own, wearing a blue button shirt down over dark pants. A green, red and blue tie was haphazardly tied over his collar, and he carried a beige handbag with tassel embellishments.
This wasn’t the pair’s only fashion week outing, as soon after, they attended Rocky’s own show for his brand AGWE, this time with their almost two-year-old son Riot in tow, looking just as stylish as his parents.
