From sneakers worthy of the silver screen to dress shoes with an edge, Onitsuka Tiger tends to put a twist on whatever it touches. The Japanese fashion brand is now taking on denim with its new line, Denivita. The name combines the word “denim” with “vita”, the Italian word for life—which tells you how long you can expect to have Onitsuka Tiger’s vibrant Denivita designs in your wardrobe.
Onitsuka Tiger’s first Denivita collection has arrived for Spring/Summer 2025. For women, there are wide-leg and straight-leg pants in denim, miniskirts in denim, overalls in denim, and bucket hats in denim.
What makes these denim pieces so special is that they are crafted from Japanese denim, which is a prized fabric among fashion fans. (Refer to the “rawdenim” community on Reddit to witness their enthusiasm.) Then there’s the fact that, other than indigo blue, the Denivita pieces also come in bright yellow—a nod to Onitsuka Tiger’s signature colour. The striking hue is carefully achieved by bleaching blue denim pieces and over-dyeing them in yellow.
If you’re wondering how to wear all that denim, Onitsuka Tiger’s Denivita campaign offers some styling ideas. You can throw on one of Onitsuka Tiger’s T-shirts and tank tops, which are designed to look layered, to go with your Denivita jeans. Or you can pull on one of Onitsuka Tiger’s sweatshirts or hoodies, which are printed to look like they are vintage, and you’ll find that they match perfectly with your Denivita skirt. The resulting ensembles will have you looking like a rockstar, circa 1990—but unlike Kurt Cobain, you’ll be proudly wearing Japanese denim.
Onitsuka Tiger’s Denivita collection will be available at the Onitsuka Tiger store in Takashimaya, and The Onitsuka store in ION Orchard, and online from 24 January.
