The steep ascent to Switzerland’s stylish alpine town, St. Moritz, is one traversed by intrepid wanderers. This pioneering adventure spirit is at the core of the performance outfitter maison Moncler, which made the snow-capped forest, white powder and folklorish winter setting the ideal backdrop for their Moncler Grenoble Fall/Winter 2024 collection presentation.
Over one frosty night in February, the technical luxuriate evoked its mountaineering DNA for an expedition-themed collection that fostered a connection to the open air. In melding the sartorial needs of Après-ski and the slopes, Moncler delivered a uniform for the ice-capped voyager. Silhouettes billowed with Moncler’s signature puffed aesthetic, while knitwear drew inspiration from traditional techniques and family heirlooms through covetable Aran stitches and refined needlework. Bricolage jackets will soon be a mainstay on ski fields, with Moncler fusing patchworking with duvet fabrics.

For the show itself, Moncler evoked its own aurora borealis in a dazzling light show that illuminated the forest—and in turn, the serpentine runway—with dynamic greens and blinding pinks. Supermodels like Emily Ratajkowski, Irina Shayk and Mariacarla Boscono appeared at home amongst the pines in Moncler’s sumptuous layering, while the front row, including Anne Hathaway and Kate Moss, watched on through a fashion spin on a silent disco. They watched on with thermoses filled with hot mulled wine—a treat after trekking to their seats and combatting the elements.
With their stomachs filled with cashew fondue and extremities chilled by the iciness of their surroundings, Moncler ensured the meaning of “performance” would ring differently for all in attendance. Moncler’s chalet girls are all grown up and are delivering a breath of fresh air. Ahead, GRAZIA puts a spotlight on Moncler’s glacial runway and brings you all the photos from the exclusive alpine event.
