A Meeting of Paris and New York: Michael Kors Does It Again This Fall 2023

Born out of his love for travel, the Empire Jacquard logo is here to stay

The enduring allure of Michael Kors is one that warrants no explanation. For the average fashion-conscious woman, Kors is the go-to designer for an aspirational purse without completely breaking the bank. The brand’s trusted reputation precedes them, and for good reason—on the runway, you’ll notice Kors sticks to what he does best: timeless pieces that stand up against the runway hijinks and gimmicks. Kors doesn’t hide behind the veil of performative acts—what you see is what you get, and that’s precisely the beauty of the designer and has made him the globally recognised American designer he is today.

As an essential part of the American fashion lexicon, Michael Kors’ international success isn’t all just chalked up to luck. His life’s work in fashion could otherwise be described as an amalgamation of global inspirations—his love for travel is one known to many, often referencing his inspirations from his journeys abroad, be it a lakeside escape or a beachfront holiday, recently exampled by the SS24 collection that took place at the waterfront pier in NYC. That said, it makes perfect sense that the Empire Jacquard Logo from the designer was modelled after the city of Paris after an enchanting trip to the Louvre Museum.

This fall, the Empire Jacquard Logo gets a fresh start in a new Navy colour way across four new handbag styles: the Gigi, Parker, Heather, and Jet Set Charm. A merging of the original Parisienne inspiration behind the bag and Kors’ Americana design sensibilities, the latest Fall 2023 collection finds a meeting of vastly different cultural influences working together for a distinctively chic line-up of ready-to-wear, and accessories.

To celebrate the refreshed lineup of handbags, Michael Kors Singapore held a grand event at Mandarin Gallery, where the store was transformed entirely and graced with a lineup of guests from all over Southeast Asia, including celebrities like Fiona Xie and Iman Fandi, along with leading tastemakers and influencers including Savina Chow and Nellie Lim. Needless to say, the attendees were dressed to the nines in Michael Kors.

Besides the star studded soiree, Michael Kors will also be offering up a limited chance to add a unique touch of individuality and flair to your handbag, this weekend on 30th September and 1st October 2023—shoppers can enjoy a complimentary bag strap embroidery with every purchase from the Empire Jacquard collection exclusively at Mandarin Gallery.
