Should you ever secure a pair of Manolo Blahniks, you might be tempted to treat them with reverence. With their glossy satin and jewelled buckles, the shoes can inspire a fierce devotion usually reserved for precious gemstones. It was famously epitomised by Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City: “Take my bag, take my watch and ring, but whatever you do, don’t take my Manolo Blahniks.” For Summer 2026, though, the designer wants you to do things a little differently. Take your Blahniks off their pedestal and out into the streets this season—because what is love without a few scuff marks?

There’s a spirited, feminine energy running through the brand’s Summer 2026 collection, teeing it up perfectly for an unfettered celebration of street style. The season’s inspirations are rich with history and artistry, reading like a meditation on mid-century cultural icons. It begins with a decade famed for its style strides, and a woman who helped pioneer its visual language: the mod frivolity of the 1960s, read through the lens of British fashion pioneer Mary Quant. The era’s whimsy is translated into shades of electric blue and vibrant red, while charming details like gingham checks and buttons nod to Quant’s own design language.

It isn’t just time that Blahnik travels through this season. The resin tiling details on the Bukla and Inkak designs pay homage to the graphic architectural vision of Gae Aulenti—the Italian architect and designer whose spatial language reshaped how interiors could tell a story; golden buttons and intricate stitching, meanwhile, whisk us to the ornate, regal palaces of Torino.
The resulting collection is a characteristically eclectic offering from Manolo Blahnik: sleek without feeling austere, playful without losing polish. You might normally wonder where a new pair of shoes will take you. Blahnik, at his best, makes you wonder where they have already been.
