Asia is sure getting a lot of love from Louis Vuitton as of late. Following the opening of Le Chocolat Maxime Frédéric at Louis Vuitton in Singapore, the brand has just unveiled LV The Place Bangkok, a fresh take on an experiential destination that showcases the facets of the Louis Vuitton universe. LV The Place Bangkok occupies two of five storeys at Gaysorn Amarin, the luxury shopping complex situated in the heart of Thailand’s capital city.
Start your day at perhaps the most captivating part of LV The Place Bangkok—Visionary Journeys, an in-depth exhibition that dives into the rich history and contemporary innovations of the brand. Located on the ground floor, the new exhibition features five thematic rooms, the highlight of which focuses on iconic bags from the house’s history. Through the lens of the Alma, Keepall, Speedy, Noé and the Petite Malle bags, the bag room takes a close look at the creative visions of LV’s artistic directors: Marc Jacobs (who introduced the brand’s first ready-to-wear line), Kim Jones, Nicolas Ghesquière, Virgil Abloh and the current brain behind LV’s menswear, Pharrell Williams. The best bit of Visionary Journeys? You’ll end your exhibition adventure in the Giveaway Room where you could walk away with little souvenirs from the brand.
After strolling through the exhibition, visitors at the new Bangkok space are invited to enjoy sweet treats and an afternoon pick-me-up at Le Café Louis Vuitton, a patisserie that draws interior inspiration from the sizzling Southeast Asian city. Tropical plants and lush botanical decor make the perfect backdrop for sipping on a Mango Sticky Rice Fizz, Louis Vuitton’s creation that pays homage to the beloved Thai dessert. Cakes, parfaits and tarts at this café are also thoughtfully finished with a unique LV flourish.
Looking for something a bit heartier? Head to Gaggan at Louis Vuitton, the upper-level restaurant by legendary Michelin-starred Indian chef Gaggan Anand. The fine dining establishment will serve up an LV-exclusive seasonal menu, which currently includes a Thai-inspired dressed lobster and a mushroom recipe in a Damier pattern.
Elsewhere, in the store at LV The Place Bangkok, vintage furniture creates an upscale, cosy atmosphere while colourful art pieces breathe life onto the floor. Embracing a new age of consumers who look beyond conventional labels, the store offers guests a more fluid visiting experience between womenswear and menswear product lines. Shoppers on the hunt for exclusive LV products will be excited to know that the Gaysorn Amarim store is home to a number of worldwide exclusive pieces, including the Alma Nano Rainbow available in five colourways, so you can keep your collection up-to-date.
