Louis Vuitton’s enigmatic teaser for its Spring/Summer 2025 show at the Cour Carrée du Louvre features the handle of a leather trunk. Trunks, as we know, are what the French luxury brand built its 170-year legacy on, and creative director Nicolas Ghesquière has often incorporated elements of them in his womenswear collections.
Louis Vuitton’s Fall/Winter 2024 fashion show marked Ghesquière’s 10th anniversary at the helm of the fashion house. The upcoming show, then, may either feel like a fresh chapter, or simply a continuation of the designer’s successful decade at Louis Vuitton. (Last year, it was reported that Ghesquière’s contract with the fashion brand was renewed for another five years.)
Regardless of the direction he takes, we know that Ghesquière will present a collection that will breathe new life into our closets. His designs have often leaned towards the innovative, blending a myriad of disparate styles and historical fashion references to create a compelling ensemble. The bags, too, will be a delight. What luxury arm candy will we be carrying next season?
We will find out soon enough. The Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show takes place at 12.30 am on Wednesday, 2 October (Singapore time). Tune into the Louis Vuitton livestream below to get a glimpse of the new collection, straight from Paris Fashion Week.
