Second time’s the charm for Louis Vuitton, which staged a repeat presentation of its Cruise 2025 fashion show right here in Singapore this week.
The fashion show was originally presented back in May at Barcelona’s Park Güell, a Modernist masterpiece designed by Antoni Gaudí. The Spanish architect served as a major inspiration for the collection by Louis Vuitton creative director Nicolas Ghesquière, so the choice of show setting was a no-brainer. In Singapore, the French luxury brand selected The Singapore Edition hotel as its showspace.
Guests, including local VIP customers and style stars, descended down a spiral staircase—very Gaudí—to the hotel’s basement, where they were led into a ballroom lit by spectacular chandeliers. There, guests had a close-up look at Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2025 collection; details like the buttons, inspired by the mosaics at Park Güell, and the intricate checkerboard weave on tailored jackets had their moment to shine. The accessories proved especially popular, including new iterations of the Louis Vuitton Petite Malle handbag crafted with moulded metallic details, the GO-14 bag in gradient leather, and bejewelled pointed-toe pumps.
Later in the evening, guests were ushered into another room for the big moment: the fashion show. Gary Numan played on the soundtrack as local models walked and showed off select pieces from Louis Vuitton’s Cruise 2025 collection. The collection is an homage to Spanish arts and culture: while staying faithful to his beloved ‘80s references, Ghesquière also drew upon the organic curves and forms of Gaudí’s works, the rich colours of Spanish paintings, and the flourishes of flamenco dance costumes. All of that came to life on the runway.
Just as noteworthy was the front row: Singapore style stars from Willabelle Ong to Savina Chow were lined up in their finest Louis Vuitton ensembles, which incorporated sculptural leather pieces, tops with power shoulders, and statement knee-high boots. The Louis Vuitton girl is anything but typical. Below, see the best-dressed celebrities and style stars that we spotted at the show.
