London Fashion Week was off to a late start, kicking off almost a week after New York Fashion Week wrapped up. But the Fall/Winter 2025 shows, running from 20 to 24 February, were worth the wait. This season sees the debut of Daniel Fletcher as the new creative director of the Mithridate. Fletcher offered his vision for turning the Guangzhou-based fashion label into a global one, following a campaign with Alexa Chung that was unveiled in January.

Another LFW highlight is Conner Ives’s return to the runway, via a presentation at The Savoy’s Beaufort Bar. His collection, All That Jazz, featured artsy evening dresses and feather-trimmed coats—a vision of glamour to rival that of Simone Rocha’s show presented right before his. This season, Rocha’s tough femininity translated into silk dresses worn with furry rabbit clutches, edgy harnesses worn over sheer dresses, and leather jackets with puffed shoulders and balloon sleeves—like the one worn by Alexa Chung. Even tougher were the models at Dilara Findikoglu’s runway show, Venus From Chaos. Lara Stone opened the spectacle with a snakeskin corset jacket and pencil skirt—think “Office Siren”, but “siren” in the deadly, mythological sense. Equally fantastical is the mesh dress embellished with shells, safety pins, and pearls, reimagining Venus as a punk mermaid. A moulded leather dress painted with tattoo graphics has also captured the attention of fashion fans (especially McQueen devotees) online.

London Fashion Week clearly has a dose of edge, but it also has straightforward elegance—see the ladylike ensembles from Emilia Wickstead, Erdem, Richard Quinn, and Huishan Zhang that were all showcased this season. As for street-ready outfits, we’re keeping an eye out for LFW closer, Burberry. So are celebrities like Bright Vachirawit and Tang Wei, who are set to attend Daniel Lee’s upcoming presentation for the British fashion brand.
