This week, Laufey made a stop in Singapore as part of her Bewitched: The Goddess Tour in Asia. For her concert at the Singapore Expo, the jazz-pop star wore a white Rodarte dress adorned with 3D flowers and embroidery—very much in line with the rest of her dreamy tour wardrobe so far.
But Laufey looked just as stylish off the stage, too. While out and about in Singapore, the Icelandic musician dressed for the heat and humidity in an outfit that is easy, summer-ready, and very Laufey. She wore a sleeveless white blouse from Los Angeles fashion brand Dôen, with floral lace trims along its neckline, armholes and hem. The romantic blouse, which is inspired by Edwardian-era corset covers, also features gathers on the front and a line of buttons on the back.
Laufey paired her relaxed blouse with an equally breezy bottom: a pleated tennis skirt from Ami Paris. The white skirt is crafted from cotton and features contrast stitching throughout—a cool twist to the preppy wardrobe staple. Adding another sportswear-inspired touch to her ensemble, Laufey also wore her own merchandise, showing off a baseball cap that reads “a very laufey day”. The singer continued to mix things up with her shoes, a pair of blue velvet Mary Jane flats from London label Flabelus.
Laufey’s shoes are a practical choice for wandering around Singapore’s streets. Also, as she shares in her style guide to dressing like her, the Bewitched singer favours wearing ballerina flats and loafers “for a classic rom com movie vibe”.
Another rule in her style guide? Having fun with accessories. Laufey took with her a tote bag—another one of her official merch offerings—as she shopped for local produce. She also personalised her bag with a Paddington Bear keychain, a refreshing bag charm alternative to Pop Mart’s viral Labubu plushies that have been spotted on other It-girls.
With her ensemble, Laufey translates the magic of her feminine, fairytale-like style into something that works on a tropical island. Singapore may be far away from her native Iceland, or Los Angeles, where the Gen Z music star is now based, but Laufey looks right at home. If you’re celebrating A Very Laufey Day (that’s today, 8 September), you can take cues from the singer’s style book as you visit the Laufey Book Club pop-up at Kinokuniya Singapore, or drop by Aphrodite Waffles & Gelato café to try the new Laufberry gelato.
