You’ve been hearing about it all week: Jonathan Anderson is finally making his debut as the creative director of Dior, starting with the Dior Men Spring/Summer 2026 fashion show. The former Loewe designer will be presenting his first collection for the French fashion house at Paris Fashion Week on Friday, 27 June.
So far, Anderson has given us some clues as to what to expect from his highly-anticipated Dior debut. The fashion designer has shared Polaroid images of Lee Radziwill and Jean-Michel Basquiat shot by Andy Warhol, which are on his moodboard for his upcoming menswear collection. Anderson explained, “As I started out on this journey, I kept returning to these photographs of Basquiat and Radziwill who are both, for me, the epitome of style.”
Then came the teaser photos, starring Real Madrid player Kylian Mbappé. The football champion is seen wearing a suit and tie, including a striped ensemble not unlike what Basquiat would have worn himself.
“Kylian Mbappé is the voice of a generation and an inspiration to many people in the world of sport and beyond. These films show the charm and charisma that make him the perfect ambassador for this house,” said Anderson.
We also had a glimpse of Anderson’s first Dior accessories: a trio of Dior Book Tote bags, referencing literature classics like Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Les Liaisons dangereuses by Pierre Choderlos de Laclos.
It seems like Anderson will also be extending his artistic vision to Dior Maison, the luxury brand’s homeware and tableware line. As the invitation for his Dior show, Anderson sent out a ceramic plate with eggs—a design dug up from the brand’s archives.
