Go Behind The Scenes At The Star-Studded H&M x Rabanne Launch Party At Paris Fashion Week

H&M has unveiled its collaboration with the illustrious Spanish fashion brand, Rabanne
PARIS, FRANCE – OCTOBER 02: (L to R) Damson Idris, Irina Shayk, Julien Dossena, Creative Director of Paco Rabanne,, Elle Fanning and H&M Creative Director Ann-Sofie Johansson attend the launch of the Rabanne H&M collection at Silencio on October 2, 2023

H&M has long been known for their penchant for collaborating with the biggest names in the fashion industry. It started off with fashion’s godfather Karl Lagerfield, and the brand has since moved on to work with houses like Balmain and Mugler. During Paris Fashion Week, H&M announced their latest collaboration with Spanish house, Rabanne.

The official announcement was made at a star-studded soiree, staying true to the collection’s party-ready aesthetic. The event was held at one of Paris’ iconic nightclubs and guests were treated to a sneak peek of the collection. The collection, which starts at $40 and ranges to $600, includes leopard prints and heavy metals, western and prairie-inspired pieces, metallic cowboy boots, fringed headpieces, and, of course, variations on the brand’s iconic 1969 palette bag—all of which, were of course on display at the launch party.

“It was a joy to unveil the Rabanne H&M collaboration in Paris with our guests revealing the show-stopping potential of this versatile collection,” said Ann-Sofie Johansson, head of design womenswear and creative advisor at H&M.

The night kicked off with an electrifying performance by the talented Swedish pop star, Robyn. The celebrations continued with South Korean DJ and producer, Peggy Gou, adding to the already electric atmosphere—and if that wasn’t enough, musical extraordinaire Cher, made an appearance as a special guest.

Rabanne rose to prominence in the fashion world in the 1960s with his use of unconventional materials such as metal and plastic in his clothing, and his incorporation of futuristic elements in his designs—notoriously known for his space-age inspired pieces. “I always want people to feel liberated when they wear our clothes, so it was great to see guests having fun and embracing the collection’s hedonistic spirit,” said Julien Dossena, creative director at Rabanne

The H&M x Rabanne collection will include a range of products, from womenswear and menswear to accessories and even home decor. The collection is set to launch on 9 November 2023 and it will be available in selected stores and online at hm.com.
