It is headscarves season, according to the most stylish celebrities. Apart from religious and cultural uses, the accessory has a storied legacy in fashion. The headscarf has been seen on past and present runways of fashion houses like Chloé, Celine, Versace and Fendi. The beauty lies in its versatility—at Chloé and Celine, headscarves were lightweight, reflecting the boho-chic sensibilities at both maisons, while Versace and Fendi spotlighted vibrant, printed versions throughout their opulent lineups.

Historically, style icons like Audrey Hepburn, Marilyn Monroe and Jackie Kennedy have also been photographed sporting the accessory.

And it seems like the stars of today are in their Old Hollywood era. Beyoncé, for one, posted a photo of herself in a printed white headscarf knotted below her chin along with matching minidress and cat-eye sunglasses. Similarly, Sabrina Carpenter was recently spotted at Vogue World in a matching red-and-white striped headscarf and bodycon dress from Jacquemus.

K-pop stars Blackpink’s Jennie and LESERAFFIM’s Yunjin have been adopting the headscarf in their own way. The former sported a printed headscarf with a white minidress beneath a blue cardigan and mesh flats, while Yunjin put a street style spin on the classic accessory, pairing a black printed variation with silver hoop earrings, a white tank and low-slung denim.

But perhaps no one does it better—or loves the accessory—more than supermodel Elsa Hosk, who had posted looks featuring headscarves, plain or printed, numerous times on her Instagram account.

Her best looks to copy? A sheer white headscarf paired with a matching embroidered tank and baggy denim, and a patterned version with red detailing that matched her sweater, teamed with statement gold earrings and sunglasses.
