Dua Lipa rang in the last year of her 20s in style. Or more accurately, an itsy bitsy teenie weenie high-octane orange Gucci bikini. Indeed, the queen of vacanza jetted off to a tropical destination to celebrate her 29th birthday after wrapping up the European summer festival season. Backdropped by lush green palm fronds and a bouquet of helium balloons, the British songstress offered another taste of her never-ending holiday wardrobe.
Given the occasion and the fact Lipa’s birthday falls within Leo season, the Radical Optimism singer ensured that her balmy ensemble shone with main character energy. Of course, when you’re wearing a mesh tank top littered with shimmering rhinestones, this is almost guaranteed. Lipa has been advocating for the netted trend all season long, stepping out in Alaïa’s cult-favourite ballet flats and newly-released matching webbed bag. Now, in Cultnaked’s ‘Stardust’ top, the musician has landed herself a sartorial hat trick.
Lipa accessorised her glistening outfit with gilded jewellery, including Tiffany & Co’s Lock Bangle in yellow gold with full pave diamonds, a Panthère de Cartier watch and Gucci’s new Marina chain necklace. (Lipa is channelling Daria Werbowy in the Chateau Marmont pool for Italian Maison’s jewellery campaign, if we do say so ourselves.)
Lipa shared a carousel beginning her birthday festivities with this accompanying caption: “29!!!! And life just keeps getting better 💕💗💖💞💓 Thank you for all the birthday wishes!! I love you guys xxx 🎂🎂🎂🦁🦁🎈🎈🎈🎈🎈”
Given Lipa admitted she loves a party, we’re sure this is only the start of a planned multi-day affair. In previous years, Lipa has hosted a rave-themed soirée in Ibiza and toasted her lap around the sun at a farm while wearing a Martine Rose ‘birthday suit’. But irrespective of the occasion, Lipa is always going to find an excuse to dance the night away…
