There’s nothing quite like the timing of the Spring/Summer season of Copenhagen Fashion Week, typically held in a bluebird week between a dreary week of weather known as Storm Hans to Danish locals. Typically held each August, the procession of technicolour attendees parading through the canal-laden capital is enough to encourage a high dose of colour in winter layering (for those watching in the Southern Hemisphere) and remind Denmark’s neighbours why Copenhagen has become an epicentre of emerging fashion, bold style and risk-taking tastes.
For the SS25 iteration, the first day provided a bevy of styling cues as guests flocked to the harbour, an open-air garden and a brewery in the emerging Meatpacking District to preview the new season collections. As always, unexpected pairings emerged as the most ubiquitous style note. Guests wore Saks Potts’ ‘It girl’ approved Serena Polo with Cecilie Bahnsen’s romantic tulle skirts and satin ballet flats, or sheer ethereal dresses made with A.Roege Hove’s technical knit and sporty sneakers. Stripes, pastels, frills and light accents are the new Copencore uniform, with shirting, cargo details and whimsical flourishes integral to the street style set.
