We’re still weeks away from Chinese New Year 2024 celebrations, but you can already feel the festive spirit at ION Orchard. The shopping mall has kicked off a new campaign titled “An Iconic Year, In Bloom” to welcome all the good stuff, like success, wealth and happiness. Drop by the retail destination and you might be lucky enough to spot a mascot of the Chinese God of Wealth roaming around, or be treated to a rousing lion dance performance.
Of course, no visit to ION Orchard is complete without shopping. And with so many of our favourite fashion brands located inside the mall, you will find plenty of options to upgrade your Chinese New Year wardrobe. The best part? You’ll even be treated for it.
From now until February 24, ION Orchard is running a series of promotions for ION+ Rewards Members. Firstly, there’s a daily promotion: be among the first 100 members to spend a minimum of $400 in a single day to earn 50 ION+ Points ($20 worth of shopping e-vouchers). Plus, every week, ION Orchard will also reward the first 50 members to spend a minimum of $5,000 in a single day with 375 ION+ Points ($150 worth of shopping e-vouchers).
Want to get even more out of your spendings? Within the month of January, be among the first 45 members to spend a minimum of $35,000 in a single day—you’ll earn 2,500 ION+ Points ($1,000 worth of shopping e-vouchers). Or, if you’re one of the first 20 members to spend a minimum of $150,000 in a single day, you’ll get 11,250 ION+ Points ($4,500 worth of shopping e-vouchers). The two promotions will run in the month of February, too.
There is also merchandise up for grabs. ION+ Rewards Members who spend at least $80 in a single day are entitled to a beautiful set of red packets and a mandarin orange carrier in red and gold, adorned with pink flowers. These can be redeemed at the Concierge Counter on Level 1, while stocks last.
To help you hit those targets, we spotlight some of the best Chinese New Year collections to shop in ION Orchard now.
PRADA
This organza dress from Prada has an elegant East-meets-West quality about it: it’s cut in a classic fit-and-flare silhouette, but it’s also adorned with flowers that seem to have come out of an ink painting. The ethereal effect of the latter is also pronounced with the use of floaty, sheer organza. To make the dress appropriate for family reunions, we recommend wearing a bodysuit with Prada’s silk shorts underneath.

It comes in an exclusive soft pink colour as part of the luxury fashion brand’s jade-inspired capsule collection for the Lunar New Year. And it’s just the right size to fit all your essentials.

GUCCI
This white wool cardigan from Gucci’s Year of the Dragon capsule collection will have everyone talking. That’s because it features a new Interlocking G motif with a playful twist, with two red dragons making up the “G”s. The piece is casual and comfy, and you can easily style with a pair of jeans.

SAINT LAURENT
If you’ve got parties lined up this Chinese New Year, then let Saint Laurent’s Mini Jamie 4.3 Chain bag be your trusty accessory. A smaller, compact version of the French fashion brand’s beloved Jamie 4.3 handbag, the quilt-effect leather shoulder bag will add a glamorous touch to your outfit. It’ll also be comfortable to wear all night long: it features an adjustable leather and chain strap that you can wear at two different lengths.

DIOR
These Walk‘N’Dior platform sneakers will let you go from one house visit to the next with ease. Dior’s casual shoes are given a romantic touch via the embroidered Le Coeur des Papillons motif, featuring flowers and butterflies. The motif, created by Italian artist Pietro Ruffo, appears across Dior’s Lunar New Year offerings, so you can get the sneakers and match it with the collection’s shirt, for example.

LORO PIANA
For a subtle nod to the Year of the Dragon, look no further than Loro Piana. Its limited-edition Lunar Stole features the exquisite Moon print, derived from the Italian luxury brand’s archives, and updated with the zodiac symbol. The stole is crafted from fine cashmere, fringed at the end, and soft to the touch. If you’re travelling to visit your relatives this festive season, the stole will be the perfect thing to throw on as you board a flight.
