The French Riviera has long served as a source of inspiration for fashion brands, but few have interpreted its charm in such a refreshing way as Brunello Cucinelli has. For Spring/Summer 2025, the Italian luxury brand looked not just to the glittering coasts of the Mediterranean but also to its desert dunes to inform the colours and textures of its collection.

The collection, titled Echoes of a Journey, comprises versatile “matching sets” for every occasion. The outfits offer an easy elegance, something that will be familiar to loyal Brunello Cucinelli fans. That’s true even for the tailored looks: lightweight blazers in linen and hemp are paired with loose, relaxed trousers, ensembles that you can imagine let you feel the breeze as it passes through. These suits come in colours that are easy on the eyes, like the soft blue of a clear sky, earthy brown shades like “cacao” and “chocolate”, or an alluring dusty red that Brunello Cucinelli introduces for the season.

To complete the set, and to drive home the collection’s nautical inspirations, the suits are styled with striped tops. That includes knit T-shirts that Brunello Cucinelli elevates with a touch of glamour, via sequin-embellished necklines. There are also breezy dress shirts in organza, which are buttoned only halfway or worn tucked out, not in—creating a look that is casual and cool.

Given that the Italian luxury brand made its name with its exceptional fabrics, it is little wonder that its use of materials and textile techniques continue to be a delight to discover. This season, Brunello Cucinelli softens its menswear-inspired shirting and jackets with sparkling embroidery that catches the eye like the glittering sea. There is the brand’s signature, subtle Monili embroidery to be found along shirt collars, but also the bolder Dazzling Stripe Embroidery, which features rows of shimmering sequins that have been carefully sewn all across the delicate, sheer fabrics of the shirts.

There are other craftsmanship feats to be found in Brunello Cucinelli’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, namely in the knitwear pieces. The Foliage Lace blazer somehow maintains its structure even though it is constructed with a soft lace featuring a nature-inspired pattern. The jacket is even lined—with sheer organza, all the better to show off the jacket’s incredible openwork design.

Elsewhere, a more abstract foliage pattern can be found on a brown macramé top that is adorned all over with strands of sequins, which undoubtedly took hours to craft by hand. The macramé piece looks stunning in movement, as do the silk tops and skirts that are embroidered with cascading fringes of clear sequins. Those dazzling pieces can obviously be worn in the evening, but they will do just as well in the day, if you pair them with the collection’s more minimalist pieces like a slouchy sweater or a safari vest.

Brunello Cucinelli continued its experiments with textiles on this season’s accessories, too. There is a standout clutch covered in fringes of three-dimensional sequins and knots, and another that features the openwork Foliage Lace design. The new BC Duo bags also capture the collection’s travel-inspired mood, including large totes in suede and smaller bucket bags in denim.

Brunello Cucinelli also has you covered with its eyewear collection, which is made under a license with EssilorLuxottica. The Italian brand’s sophisticated aesthetic is translated into a series of versatile and lightweight optical glasses and sunglasses. The eyewear designs also feature the use of exceptional materials like titanium and 18-karat gold, and they are crafted in Italy and Japan—two countries known for producing the finest sunglasses in the world.

The beauty of the French Riviera is very much alive in Brunello Cucinelli’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, as is the fashion brand’s dedication to fine craftsmanship. You can bet that these sophisticated styles will last you a lifetime, too—wherever your journey takes you.
