Almost ten years to the day that George and Amal Clooney exchanged vows at the opulent Aman Hotel on the historic Grand Canal, the stylish couple have returned to the floating city for the premiere of Wolfs at the annual Venice International Film Festival.
With the couple celebrating a decade of marriage later this month on September 27, it was only fitting that the barrister began her stint on the Lido di Venezia in a bridal-inspired white Chanel gown from the French maison’s Resort 2023 collection by Virginie Viard. But given the cinematic theme of their excursion, it was really on the red carpet for the actor’s upcoming film that their adoration for one another was on display.
In the movie, Clooney stars across from fellow Hollywood heavyweight Brad Pitt as a lone wolf ‘fixer’ hired to clean up after a murder. After Pitt’s character is employed on the same job, the duo are forced to team up to solve their client’s problems. You wouldn’t gauge this from their interactions before the screening, however, with the Clooneys the acme of affection in front of the countless flashing paparazzi lens. Walking hand-in-hand in front of the Palazzo del Cinema, the actor really allowed his wife to steal the spotlight.
Delivering a dosage of ‘main character energy’, Clooney wore a bespoke butter yellow gown from Versace. The sleeveless gown featured delicate lace and sequin embroidery with cascading ruffles and a glamorous train. With Amal serving as our perennial date night style muse, this latest instalment into her canon of romantic silhouettes might be our favourite yet.
Perhaps it’s because the location holds such significance to their love story or the fact no one does la dolce vita quiet like the Clooneys—case in point their 18th Century Lake Como villa—but this outing is further proof Amal looks her best when in Italy.
