What does the end of summer symbolise in a city with year-round sunshine? This final August weekend in Singapore, there’s a promise of adventure in the air—and it only feels like the beginning of something.

The city’s heat is as sweltering as ever, and its schedule doesn’t show signs of cooling off either. Celine Song’s buzzy new film Materialists had its Singapore premiere on Thursday, promising an exploration of 21st-century love with Pedro Pascal and Dakota Johnson. On the gastronomic front, celebrity chef Nancy Silverton returns for a series of exclusive dining events, and the St. Regis bar prepares for guest shifts from two of Asia’s best bartenders. Why wait? GRAZIA Singapore invites you to keep up the pace and venture into the thick of our cosmopolitan jungle this weekend.

Friday Night: Indulge Your Inner Romantic With Celine Song’s ‘Materialists’

Celine Song’s highly anticipated new romantic comedy starring Pedro Pascal, Dakota Johnson, and Chris Evans is finally showing in Singapore. Billed as a poignant and funny meditation on love in the 21st century, Materialists stars Johnson as a savvy but jaded matchmaker in New York City, with internet boyfriends Evans and Pascal forming the other two points of the love triangle. The film has already sparked its fair share of online discourse about modern-day dating—so if you’ve managed to dodge spoilers for this long, what better way to spend a Friday evening in the city?

Materialists is now showing in theatres across Singapore.
