This September weekend in Singapore offers a chance to savour ephemeral moments. The city is alight with one-time-only experiences and fleeting chances for exploration and discovery, but promises lasting memories.

Cult favourite beauty brands are redefining how they connect with consumers, bringing us limited time sensory experiences. Kylie Cosmetics’s collaboration with breezy Mediterranean café Alani is having its final iteration on Sunday, promising a perfect blend of Instagram chic with summer brunch goodness, and at Ion, Shiseido promises a peek behind the curtain of skincare science. Elsewhere in Orchard, Somerset Road transforms into an eclectic, vibrant tribute to our local arts and culture scene as Singapore Design Week comes to an end. There’s no time to lose—GRAZIA Singapore invites you to see these endings as beginnings, and to take this weekend as an opportunity to savour the unexpected.

Friday Night: Discover The Science Of Skincare With Shiseido’s Pop-up

Shiseido is giving us a peek at perfection this weekend. The Japanese skincare brand is inviting you to discover the science that makes their products tick, and there’s a delectable twist to the experience. At their Art of Perfect Layers pop-up, Shiseido is showcasing the craftsmanship behind their new Vital Perfection Treatment, delving into the science of retinol and the art of perfectly layering your skincare routine. And if you manage to snag a spot at the accompanying workshop, you’ll uncover a sweeter layer of craftsmanship by decorating a petite floral cake with Sarah Nicole Tan of local bakery Petal & Pound.

Shiseido’s Art of Perfect Layers pop-up is located at Ion Orchard, Level 1 Atrium, 2 Orchard Turn, Singapore 238801.

Saturday Morning: Soak Up The Sun At Tipsy Unicorn’s Matcha Rave

About a year ago, the phrase matcha rave was essentially unheard of. Suddenly, it seems the alcohol-free, wellness-forward celebrations are everywhere, and Tipsy Unicorn is bringing us the latest take on the trend. This Saturday, the Sentosa beach club is hosting a sun-soaked, fitness-focused party that blends revitalisation with revelry. You’ll begin the afternoon with intention and movement through wellness sessions featuring mat Pilates and yoga, and flow seamlessly into a laid-back poolside party promising good vibes, electric beats, and plenty of matcha

Tipsy Unicorn is located at Sentosa Island, 01-01, 36 Siloso Beach Walk, Southern Islands, Singapore 099007.

Saturday Night: Shine A Light On Local Culture At Saturday Spotlight @ Orchard

As Singapore Design Week comes to a close, the city’s most exciting creatives are coming together to hold a vibrant sendoff. Hosted by Scape, Spotlight @ Orchard features an eclectic lineup of workshops, talks, and showcases featuring over 80 young designers and collaborators who are pushing boundaries and championing creativity. Spanning multiple locations across Orchard, there will be plenty to peruse at the design-centred event. Whether you’re making your way through the Design in Situ trail, which features brands like Nike, Aesop, and Muji, getting in some after-hours shopping at Scape and Offsite’s Creator’s Market, or checking out the National Gallery’s Roving Art Truck, it promises to be a dynamic foray into Singapore’s arts and culture scene.

Saturday Spotlight @ Orchard will be held across multiple locations in the Orchard district. Scape is located at 2 Orchard Turn, Singapore 238801.

Alani is bringing us back to the King Kylie era this weekend, straight into the height of 2016 glam. The scenic rooftop cafe in Maxwell is transforming into a pastel pink wonderland as they host an exclusive pop-up with Kylie Cosmetics. Apart from testing out and customising Kylie’s famous lip kits, you’ll also get to try your hand at watercolour painting and nibble on an all-new menu designed specifically for the event—and obviously, it’s all pink. Think matcha cookies dotted with freeze-dried strawberries and pink peppercorn cinnamon rolls. Set your Sunday afternoon aside for this picture perfect combination of beauty and brunch.

The Kylie Cosmetics pop-up will be held on 23 September at Alani, KADA, 5 Kadayanallur Street, #04-09, Singapore 069183.

Sunday Night: Take A Culinary Tour Of Italy With Osteria Mozza’s New Tasting Menu

Celebrity chef Nancy Silverton made the rounds of Singapore’s culinary scene last month, and she left us with this permanent upgrade to the menu at Osteria Mozza. The California-Italian restaurant just launched an all pasta tasting menu curated by Silverton herself, featuring five courses of classic and seasonal pasta dishes. Available only at the restaurant’s sleek 12-seater Mozzarella Bar, the first iteration of the menu features a buttery, rich fonduta ravioli, maltagliati with duck ragu, a fennel sausage orecchiette, as well as chef Silverton’s personal favourite: curly mafaldine pasta in a deceptively simple amatriciana tomato sauce. As with all of Mozza’s pastas, they will be rolled and hand-shaped fresh every morning by their pasta maestros in a loving tribute to the craft and care behind pasta-making.

Osteria Mozza is located at 333 Orchard Road, Level 5, Singapore 238867.
