The Central Business District (CBD) just got a little spicier with the recent arrival of Sushisamba, the first Asian outpost of the globally-acclaimed restaurant chain, heralded for its multisensory dining concept that has captivated diners from London to Dubai. Perched atop the 52nd floor of Capital Tower, it’s clear Sushisamba Singapore isn’t just another rooftop destination in the CBD—it’s a total vibe. With stunning skyline vistas and a unique blend of Japanese, Brazilian and Peruvian cuisine and culture, the hip hangout offers a fresh, multifaceted experience like no other.
The interiors, designed by acclaimed architectural firm KokaiStudios, strike a perfect balance between modern contemporary and rustic, wrapping the 12,000-square-foot space in a warm yet cosmopolitan embrace. Walls lined with tropical plants add texture to the expansive space, while plush booth seating invites long, leisurely meals. At the heart of the restaurant, a dramatic 3D-printed bamboo installation—composed of 9,000 intricately crafted pieces—spans the ceiling, creating a canopy that feels organic yet very modern. All of this is framed by floor-to-ceiling windows that allow natural light to flood in while you enjoy 360-degree views of Singapore’s cityscape and glittering waters beyond.
An open theatre kitchen and robata grill are central to the dining experience here, inviting guests to watch chefs in action as they prepare vibrant plates for sharing. For a sampling of Sushisamba’s signature staples, we suggest ordering the Business Lunch set ($58++ per person), which includes two starters and a main.
A must-try on the à la carte menu is the Crispy Lobster Taquitos ($38 for a pair), filled with a creamy filling of fresh lobster blended with Japanese tartar, yuzu gel, coriander and avocado. For some local flair, try the Samba Singapore Roll ($38), filled with succulent Maine lobster, mango and avocado, drizzled with aji honey truffle.
And if you’re feeling rich, the Samba Seviche ($121) is worth the splurge. It features a trio of seafood ceviches: Salmon with passion fruit and crispy salmon skin; sea bass with leche de tigre; and sea bream with truffle-infused leche de tigre. As a playful end to a meal, do indulge in some fluffy Japanese Andagi doughnuts ($23), tangy Yuzu Cheesecake ($22), and icy Samba Pops ($17) made from chicha morada sorbet.
The cocktail menu, curated by Italian mixologist Giancarlo Mancino, showcases bold concoctions inspired by the cultures the restaurant celebrates like all-time favourites Pisco Sour, Colada and spirit-forward Caipirinha. Highlights include the Bahia Colada ($26), a tropical blend of Roku Gin, matcha, and coconut, and the Geiko ($26), a refreshing mix of guava, Aperol, and sake. Along with Singapore’s largest sake collection, the restaurant is also the first to serve the Peruvian cocktail, El Capitan ($22), on tap.
For those seeking exclusivity, the Samba Room on the mezzanine level offers a tucked-away sanctuary, complete with private dining spaces, each uniquely designed with the characteristics of Japan, Brazil and Peru. Whether you’re planning a special celebration or hosting a corporate event, these rooms provide a seamless blend of privacy and sophistication.
As cocktails flow and conversation buzzes, it’s easy to lose yourself in the rhythm of the night especially when the samba dancers and percussionists glide between tables, transporting diners straight to the heart of Rio’s Carnaval. The music—an upbeat mix of Afro, Brazilian, and Latin tunes—sets the tone for a night out, transforming the venue from fine dining to “fun dining” as the evening progresses.
Whether you’re here for a stylish lunch, post-work drinks or party with friends, Sushisamba Singapore promises a dynamic experience that reflects the pulse of the city. We can’t think of a more perfect excuse to dress up and dance it out!
