Two new names now shine on Wimbledon’s roll of honour. Iga Świątek and Jannik Sinner departed the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club (AELTC) with trophies in hand, leaving their mark on the oldest tennis tournament in the world.

In a weekend made for the history books, Rolex Testimonees Świątek and Sinner claimed their first Wimbledon titles, securing their places in tennis legend and opening a fresh chapter in the game’s golden tradition.

In just 57 minutes, 24-year-old Świątek overwhelmed her opponent 6–0, 6–0, becoming the first Polish player to win Wimbledon and the only active women’s player to hold Grand Slam titles on all three surfaces. Her seamless transition to grass—once considered her weakest surface—was a masterclass in adaptability and mental clarity.

“Honestly I didn’t even dream of this moment because for me it was way too far,” Świątek admitted. “It’s the tournament with the greatest tradition, so I think playing well here and winning this title is the biggest achievement in tennis. The atmosphere at Wimbledon and the way it is organised is just perfect.”

A day later, Sinner brought The Championships to a close with an enthralling rematch against fellow Testimonee Carlos Alcaraz—a sequel to their Roland-Garros final just weeks earlier. If Świątek’s Saturday victory was pure dominance, Sinner’s Sunday triumph was a study in grit. Before a packed Centre Court crowd of 15,000, the 23-year-old Italian combined power with surgical precision to win 4–6, 6–4, 6–4, 6–4 in three hours. In doing so, he became the first Italian man to triumph at Wimbledon, adding a fourth Grand Slam title to his growing legacy.

“First of all, I would like to start with Carlos. Again, an amazing tournament but mostly, thank you for the player you are,” Sinner said during the trophy ceremony. “It’s so difficult to play against you but we have an amazing relationship off the court. You are going to hold this trophy many, many times. You have already two!” Reflecting on his own breakthrough, he added: “I’m very happy I held my nerves and it’s an amazing feeling. I really want to thank my whole team. You help me to push myself not only to become a better tennis player, but more importantly, a better person. I’m living my dream.”

The 2025 Championships delivered more than just historic wins. Rising talents like Mirra Andreeva and João Fonseca signalled a bright future for the sport, while familiar Rolex Testimonees returned to Centre Court— including eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer and the legendary Björn Borg, whose five consecutive titles from 1976 to 1980 remain one of Wimbledon’s most storied records.

Since 1978, Rolex has stood as a proud partner of The Championships, keeping time over its most defining moments and celebrating the athletes who embody tennis’ values of elegance, excellence, and resilience. This year, those qualities were on full display—from Rolex Testimonees Ben Shelton’s 147 mph serves to Belinda Bencic’s inspiring semi-final run just 15 months after becoming a mother.

As the white-clad champions take their places in history, one truth remains: Wimbledon is where tradition meets transformation. And in 2025, Świątek and Sinner proved that the future of tennis carries the unmistakable mark of Rolex green.
