Ripple Root, a joining of artists Liquan Liew and Estella Ng, has flourished in the vibrant and dynamic world of art, amassing an impressive portfolio of collaborations with brands such as Club 21, American Express, Facebook, and many more.
Their journey started in a design firm back in 2015, where the duo met and discovered their shared passion for painting. Unbeknownst to them, their weekend hobby would eventually lead to the creation of Ripple Root. Their first exhibition, which sold out entirely, proved to be a turning point for them, as it gave them the confidence to pursue their dreams.
Their collaborative works are a reflection of their carefree and playful approach, showcasing the beauty of nature and wildlife in a unique and captivating way. Working side by side, they create pieces like a game of tag, taking turns to add their own interpretations until the artwork is complete.
Over the past nine years, the duo has blossomed into a formidable force in the art world, and they are now preparing to host their tenth solo showcase, titled “Native Nesters”. The exhibition will play upon the idea of nesting, with the paintings featuring native flora and fauna, as well as migrating birds integrated with the local animals. Folkloric symbols will also be given a contemporary and whimsical twist, resulting in a stunning spectacle that is sure to delight art enthusiasts and casual visitors alike.
The opening night of this event will be on 10th November 2023, from 6-9 pm. The duo is also launching a 120-page retrospective book, making this event even more unforgettable. So mark your calendars and get ready to experience the magic of Ripple Root.
The exhibition will run from 11th November to 20th November 2023, from 11 am to 7 pm, at 5 Lock Road #01-06 Gillman Barracks.
