Each holiday season, we bring together creative families—from siblings and couples to dynamic collectives—to celebrate the unique bonds that define their relationships. These families remind us that creativity isn’t just about artistic expression; it’s about connection. The magic of the season lies not only in the shared creativity but in the moments where love flows through thoughtful gestures, quality time, and the language that speaks to the heart. Here, we talk to the creative collective NPCC—Clinton Leicester, Nicole Wong, Kent Phang and Dominique Leicester—on what it means to share an unshakeable bond with those you work with every day, and how they celebrate each and every little win together.
Clinton Leicester
In three words, how would you describe the relationship you have with one another in NPCC?
Clinton Leicester (CL): Crazy, love, family.
How would you describe the other members of NPCC? What is their role in your life?
CL: They are yin to my yang, calmness to my chaos—grounding me when I’m all over the place and bringing peace when there is turmoil.
How do you each like to express your love and support to one another?
CL: Our love and support are quiet and unconditionally built on years of being there for each other, which forms an unbreakable bond.
What is something unique or special about the bond you share with one another, that you don’t experience with anyone else?
CL: I don’t have to say much for each of them to understand what I am thinking.
What have you learned from one another about loving and supporting someone?
CL: It’s okay to be vulnerable because nobody is judging.
What is one of your favourite ways to spend time together as a collective?
CL: When we’re planning for our next big idea—the energy, the excitement, the debates, the conversations.
What is something that one of the other NPCC team members has said to you that has stuck with you?
CL: Why are we trying to make everything perfect—let’s do what we want!
What is the most memorable gift you have received from each other?
CL: The gift of finding new passions e.g. plants!
What do you look out for when shopping for the perfect gift for someone?
CL: A gift should be someone’s “want” never their “need”.
CL: How do you spend the holidays meaningfully?
CL: Always with family and friends, with plenty of laughter and enjoying each other’s company.
Nicole Wong
In three words, how would you describe the relationship you have with one another in NPCC?
Nicole Wong (NW): Wild, chaotic family.
How would you describe the other members of NPCC? What is their role in your life?
NW: Each one of them came into my life in different phases and ways—it was slow and was built up intensively. From literally spending 17 to 21 years together, subtly being there, accepting who I am and allowing me to grow and evolve into who I am today. It’s the support of knowing that through the good and the bad, that they are still there.
How do you each like to express your love and support to one another?
NW: Each of us shows our love in different ways, but ultimately just being there and showing up is enough.
What is something unique or special about the bond you share with one another, that you don’t experience with anyone else?
NW: Our end goals are the same: to see and help each other win, not only through work but life. No matter what happens, we always celebrate each other’s wins.
What have you learned from one another about loving and supporting someone?
NW: Everyone is unique, and we express ourselves in different ways. Embracing our individuality, we accept and celebrate these differences, remaining open to understanding and learning from them.
What is one of your favourite ways to spend time together as a collective?
NW: Just being around each other, even after working together every day.
What is something that one of the other NPCC team members has said to you that has stuck with you?
NW: Stop overthinking and just do what I want, not everything needs a plan.
What is the most memorable gift you have received from each other?
NW: A microwave oven that is still functioning after 7 years and AirTags that I never thought I needed.
What do you look out for when shopping for the perfect gift for someone?
NW: We are very practical people so we usually give what we feel that they need in their life at the moment.
Kent Phang
In three words, how would you describe the relationship you have with one another in NPCC?
Kent Phang (KP): Trust, encouraging and supportive.
How would you describe the other members of NPCC? What is their role in your life?
KP: Inspirational and my life support group!
What is something unique or special about the bond you share with one another, that you don’t experience with anyone else?
KP: We are often very aligned with what we believe in, and what we will agree on without having to discuss much.
What have you learned from one another about loving and supporting someone?
KP: Being present in times you think [you’re] not needed can mean a lot more than you think.
What is one of your favourite ways to spend time together as a collective?
KP: Drinking at Nicole or Clinton’s house! *laughs*
What is something that one of the other NPCC team members has said to you that has stuck with you?
KP: Celebrate small wins, always.
What is the most memorable gift you have received from each other?
KP: Oh wow, we are not the most gifting group around but many, many years back I got an aquarium from them for my birthday. [It] didn’t survive for long.
What do you look out for when shopping for the perfect gift for someone?
KP: Something that they think they don’t need but they will use it.
How do you spend the holidays meaningfully?
KP: We usually plan to travel around the holidays to rest and recharge.
Dominique Leicester
In three words, how would you describe the relationship you have with one another in NPCC?
Dominique Leicester (DL): Chaotic, supportive, dynamic.
How would you describe the other members of NPCC? What is their role in your life?
DL: Clinton is the quirky one. Always coming up with the wildest ideas, his hair pretty much says it all. Clinton isn’t just an uncle but he’s also a huge source of support, always pushing me to step outside my comfort zone.
Nicole is the creative genius. When it comes to anything visual (store displays, design work, social media content), she’s always full of fresh ideas. I don’t think she ever runs out of inspiration. She’s definitely someone I look up to as a role model.
Kent is the resourceful one. While we all come up with wild ideas, he’s the one who makes them happen, handling everything from sourcing to production. He’s also been a mentor to me. When I was in my previous role, we were both at the same company when COVID-19 hit, and Kent offered valuable advice. Despite my concerns about joining a family-owned business, he reassured me that it would be a good move.
How do you each like to express your love and support to one another?
DL: We’re not the lovey-dovey type, but we’ve got each other’s backs. There’s definitely a lot of unspoken love and respect, even if we don’t always say it out loud.
What is something unique or special about the bond you share with one another, that you don’t experience with anyone else?
DL: We’re all a bit different personality-wise, but when it comes to work, it’s like we’ve all got the same brain.
What have you learned from one another about loving and supporting someone?
DL: Sometimes, you just need to hear the hard stuff. It might sting at first, but it’s probably something you need to hear. Also, trust them and yourself. If something doesn’t sit right, it’s always okay to speak up and share how you feel.
What is one of your favourite ways to spend time together as a collective?
DL: We spend a lot of time drinking beers together, and somehow, that’s where all the best and craziest ideas come from!
What is something that one of the other NPCC team members has said to you that has stuck with you?
DL: Celebrate small wins!
What is the most memorable gift you have received from each other?
DL: We’re not exactly big on the whole gift-giving thing… It’s more about surviving each other’s company! But all jokes aside, Clinton and Nicole gifted me a water purifier for my new home which we use all the time and Kent got me a diffuser from Diptyque which I had been eyeing!
What do you look out for when shopping for the perfect gift for someone?
DL: To be honest, something that’s personalised to each individual. It’s important to find something that resonates with the relationship you have with that person. It’s easy to just find a random gift, but if it’s without meaning, then it doesn’t hold the same value.
How do you spend the holidays meaningfully?
DL: Mainly with family and friends. Of course, lots and lots of food, the kind you only get once a year during the festive season.
