Congratulations for making it to the second half of 2025! In the blink of an eye, we have somehow made our way to July. Whether your year so far has been a hit or a miss, one thing’s for sure: you could do with a mid-year recharge. Unplug, unwind and decompress (read: dissociate) from your stress with these new releases from Netflix, Disney+ and Viu. From K-dramas that will tug at your heartstrings to genre-bending Thai films, these are the top shows to add to your watch-list this July.

The Sandman, Season 2

DC Comics’s hit comic series The Sandman is back. After a critically acclaimed first season in 2022, The Sandman, also known as Dream and played by Tom Sturridge, is back for more action and vengeance. The second and final chapter of Dream’s onscreen journey sees him facing a dangerous path—across timelines and worlds—once again, this time staring down the face of evil as he seeks to avenge all those who have wronged him. And mark your calendars for 31 July: a special bonus episode is coming your way.

The Sandman Season 2, Volume 1 will be available on Netflix starting 3 July, with Volume 2 premiering on 24 July.

Ziam

Starring Mark Prin Suparat and Nychaa Nuttanicha, Ziam is about to keep you glued to your screen. This Thai action film follows the blood-curling journey of a former Muay Thai fighter as he battles zombies using skill, speed and pure grit to save his wife—and his life. Thrilling, messy and brimming with excitement, Ziam expands the horizons of Thai cinema with its explosive, bare-handed action sequences and nuanced storytelling.

Ziam will be out for streaming on Netflix from 9 July.

Hitmakers

Hitmakers is not your average reality TV series. Creativity, ego and fame collide in this Netflix original show that follows a group of internationally-beloved songwriters as they write hit records for some of the world’s biggest stars—including Blackpink‘s Lisa. Beyond the drama, expect wholesome moments of connection and, of course, some soul-tugging tracks.

Hitmakers will be out on Netflix from 24 July.

Law and the City

K-drama fans, this one is for you. Law and the City stars Lee Jong-suk as Ahn Joo-hyung, a jaded ninth-year legal associate. Highly successful but facing burnout, Ahn becomes increasingly worn down from fighting for clients who conflict with his moral compass. But his life gets turned upside down when a young lawyer, played by Mun Ga-young, reminds him of his days as a bright-eyed, ambitious young lawyer.

Law and the City will be out on Disney+ from 5 July.

Arguably one of the salacious scandals of our generation, Diddy on Trial: As It Happened follows the criminal trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs. With court transcripts and reenactments, this mini series follows the high-profile court case of the American rapper and record producer, who was exposed for a string of violent crimes involving multiple entertainment big names. The series is hosted by Sunny Hostin and is brought to life with expert testimonials who break down Hollywood’s dark underbelly of drugs, sex and abuse.

Diddy on Trial: As It Happened is now available on Disney+.

Low Life

First unveiled by Disney+ last year, Low Life tells the tale of a nephew-uncle duo who are struggling to make ends meet, until they learn of valuable treasure in the West Sea. Surrounded by conniving degenerates, the pair head off to retrieve the treasure, before they quickly find themselves completely embroiled in the criminal world themselves. This Korean drama stars Ryu Seung-ryong, Yang Se-jong and Lim Soo-jung in a twisted story of corruption and greed.

Low Life is premiering on Disney+ on 16 July.

My Girlfriend is the Man!

If you’re looking for a light-hearted watch this July, look no further than My Girlfriend Is The Man. Featuring Yoon San-ha from Astro, Arin from Oh My Girl and former Loona member Chuu, this spirited K-drama follows the life of Park Ji-eun, a university student who one day wakes up as a man. Utterly bewildered, Park (now going by the name of Park Ji-hun) and her boyfriend attempt to navigate their new relationship dynamic, while keeping the truth under wraps.

My Girlfriend Is The Man is available to stream on Viu from 23 July, with new episodes released every Wednesday and Thursday.
