August is upon us, and Netflix has a slew of films, fan-favourite series and K-dramas to look forward to.
Cue: The first part of Season 4 of Emily in Paris. To recap, the past three seasons of the comedy-drama have seen American marketing executive Emily Cooper (played by Lily Collins) navigate friendships and relationships against the glitzy and romantic backdrop of Paris, and we expect this season to be no less binge-worthy.
But Emily in Paris isn’t the only popular series that will be making return on Netflix in August 2024—so is The Umbrella Academy. This final season of the hit show charts how the separated Hargreeves siblings make sense of their lives as they enter a new timeline post-reset.
Other shows to add to your list? A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, starring Emma Meyers (of Wednesday fame), K-Drama Romance in the House featuring K-Pop heavyweights-turned-actors like Son Naeun and Choi Minho, and new action-packed comedy The Union.

Emily in Paris: Season 4
Emily Cooper is returning to our screens mid-August. In this first part of Season 4, expect the usual series of plot twists, high-glamour get-ups from its characters and clever quips from fan-favourite character Sylvie.
The second part of Season 4 will be released in September.
Catch it on Netflix on 15 August 2024.
The Umbrella Academy: Season 4
We’ve all collectively been waiting for this series’s return. The fourth and final season of The Umbrella Academy finally premieres next month. The Hargreeves siblings have now scattered after the climactic showdown which led to a complete reset of their timeline. Without any powers, they must now fend for themselves and come together as one again to set things right.
Catch it on Netflix on 8 August 2024.
Romance in the House
Want another K-Drama to binge? Romance in the House is here to fill that need. The new release features a star-studded cast—think: SHINee’s Choi Minho and Apink’s Son Naeun—and follows the ups and downs of the Byun family as Moo Jin, a failed businessman, attempts to make up with his estranged daughter Mi Rae as a means to reunite with his ex-wife, Ae Yeon.
Catch it on Netflix on 10 August 2024.
A Good Girl’s Guide To Murder
Starring Emma Myers as Pip Fitz-Amobi, the six-episode series is based on the first book of Holly Jackson’s best-selling novel series with the same title. Directed by Dolly Wells and adapted by Poppy Cogan, the show features a cast including Zain Iqbal, Asha Banks, and Raiko Gohara. Follow Pip, a brilliant young woman who investigates a five-year-old murder-suicide case in the fictional town of Little Kilton.
Catch it on Netflix on 1 August 2024.
The Union
We’re so excited for this one—the upcoming action-comedy film starring Mark Wahlberg as Mike and Halle Berry as Roxanne is finally here! It follows Mike, a New Jersey construction worker who is drawn into the world of spies when his high school ex-girlfriend Roxanne recruits him for a high-stakes U.S. intelligence mission. All-in-one, the film blends elements of action, comedy and romance.
Catch it on Netflix on 16 August 2024.
