Actress and emerging filmmaker Maude Apatow has been named the recipient of the 2025 Face of the Future Award, presented annually by Women In Film (WIF) in partnership with Max Mara. Introduced in 2006, the accolade recognises rising women in film and television whose talent, style and impact point toward a promising future.

This year’s celebrations unfolded across a milestone weekend in Los Angeles. On 5 November, Maria Giulia Prezioso Maramotti—Max Mara board member and granddaughter of the brand’s founder—hosted an intimate cocktail gathering at the historic Chateau Marmont. Guests included Kate Hudson, Naomi Watts, Sarah Paulson and Victoria Justice, with DJ Mia Moretti setting the tone for the evening.
The following night, at the WIF Honors at the Beverly Hilton, actor Maria Bello—who received the inaugural award—introduced Apatow before Maramotti presented the trophy. The moment marked 20 years of Max Mara and WIF spotlighting women whose creative voices shape the industry.

In her speech, Apatow credited the women who inspired her, citing authors and screenwriters such as Judy Blume and Lena Dunham, as well as her mother, actress Leslie Mann. “The best part of working in the industry so far has been the women I’ve met along the way,” she said. “That bond and commitment we have to each other is something we need now more than ever. I owe everything to the women in my life who have inspired me and uplifted me either personally or through their work. I will dedicate the rest of my life and career advocating for women the way so many of you have done for decades.”

“It is with immense pride that we name Maude Apatow the 2025 WIF Max Mara Face of the Future. Maude truly embodies the spirit of Max Mara—her multifaceted talent, combined with her unique style and sharp business sense reflects the very DNA of our house. 2025 is a significant milestone, marking two decades of this prestigious award. Through our valued, long-standing partnership with Women in Film, we continue our commitment to celebrating extraordinary female talent, and we couldn’t be happier to welcome Maude into the Max Mara family,” said Maramotti.
Founded in 1973, Women In Film remains a leading organisation championing gender equity in entertainment, supporting women both on and off screen through programmes, research and community networks.
