Despite the fame that follows Apo Nattawin Wattanagitiphat, the Thai actor is rather enigmatic when it comes to what really makes him tick. As eagle-eyed fans would have noted by now, Apo’s allure comes not just from his on-screen presence, but also his approach to the craft and his philosophy towards life. The actor is introspective and detailed when it comes to taking on creative projects, treating it as a way of learning about himself as much as the character he portrays. He’s also somewhat spiritual, having been ordained as a monk in Thailand for a month in 2019.
Spend a little more time digging and Apo starts to take shape more clearly. As GRAZIA Singapore’s May 2026 cover star, we’ve had a closer look at the many layers that shape his life, his work, and the ambitions that sit behind it all. These are the details that make Apo, Apo.
He’s Making History As A Brand Ambassador
Apo has stacked up an impressive list of firsts in fashion. In 2023, he was named Dior’s Thailand house ambassador. That same year, he became a Piaget friend of the house—the first Southeast Asian personality to hold that title—before being elevated to global ambassador in 2024. At Skechers, he recently became the first-ever celebrity to jump from a domestic Thailand brand ambassador to a regional Asia-Pacific ambassador role. With Apo’s admirable record, we can think of no other person to be GRAZIA Singapore’s first male cover star this May.
He Walked Away From Fame To Start Over
At 25, Apo stepped away from the entertainment industry and relocated to New York, where he picked up work as both a waiter and bartender while figuring out life outside acting. The experience later proved unexpectedly useful when he took on the role of Porsche Pachara Kittisawasd, the bartender-turned-bodyguard in KinnPorsche.
#MileApo Started Long Before KinnPorsche
One of the most notable points of Apo’s career is his long-running on-screen pairing with Mile Phakphum Romsaithong. And call it luck or fate, but it seems that #MileApo was somehow always meant to be. The two first met a decade before their KinnPorsche stint, crossing paths at a modelling gig and at the gym. Since then, they’ve worked together across multiple major projects, including Man Suang and Shine, marking at least three on-screen collaborations that have built their status as one of Thai entertainment’s most recognisable pairings.
His Watch Game Is On Point
That much is to be expected from the Piaget global ambassador. The Thai actor has a soft spot for unusual shapes and rare dials from Piaget’s catalogue, including the Andy Warhol watch (previously known as the Black Tie watch from 1972) and the Piaget Polo 79, an updated version of the original Piaget Polo from the 1970s.

He’s His Own Kind Of Method Actor
Although not strictly classified as a method actor, Apo goes to great lengths to achieve authenticity in his character portrayals. For his role as traditional Thai dancer Khem in Man Suang, the actor went through months-long training in choreography and muscle memory, even stretching his fingers daily to achieve the precise hand movements required. In Tee Yai: Born to Be Bad—where Apo plays the titular historical bandit—the actor sourced vintage pieces and got custom-made belt buckles for the character’s wardrobe. That same role saw him visiting real-life locations tied to the outlaw, including the Kalong Temple in Samut Sakhon.
Animals Love Apo—And Vice Versa
Apo had his very own Jonathan Bailey-and-Jack-the-horse moment on set. While in Singapore, he reportedly formed an immediate bond with an ex-racehorse named Sir Isaac, who was brought in for a photoshoot. His love for animals doesn’t stop there—the actor has a pet cat named Miuku who occasionally pops up on his social media. In fact, Apo’s affection for cats is so well-documented, fans have nicknamed him “Cattawin”.
He’s An Old Soul At Heart
For a definitive ’90s baby, Apo has a great love for decades past. The Thai actor enjoys listening to a spectrum of songs, from the rockabilly tunes of Elvis Presley to the modal jazz melodies of John Coltrane, and even as far back as Bach’s Baroque compositions. His taste in fashion also comes from retro trends, with a fascination for pieces from the ’60s and ’80s.
