In case you haven’t heard, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially engaged! The couple broke the news last night in a joint Instagram post, with the caption: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” The post included the firecracker emoji, a cute nod to the couple’s initials, T and T, to celebrate their engagement announcement.
And while it may be too early to tell when or where the high-profile couple will be tying the knot, you can take a trip down memory lane as we break down the complete timeline of Traylor (as Swifties have affectionately named the pair).
It Started With A Friendship Bracelet
As part of Swift’s Eras tour, it became norm, nay, tradition to bring friendship bracelets to the pop star’s concerts. Bead them, braid them and exchange them. But Kelce had a different plan in mind. When he attended Swift’s Arrowhead show in the summer of 2023, he brought a friendship bracelet with his number on it to pass to Swift.

But in the epic concert chaos, he never got his chance to hand it to her. Later on his podcast New Heights, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end publicly shot his shot, telling Swifties all around the world about his plans to get to know the Lover girl.
A Whirlwind Romance
Not just two months after the podcast aired, the pair was reported to have been “hanging out”. And by September that year, the couple had made things unofficially official, with Swift sporting colours from Kelce’s team jersey and even appearing at some of his games, right next to Kelce’s mother.
It wasn’t till November 2023 that the pair came out to announce that they were properly dating. Since then, they have kept their romance loud and proud, with both celebrities supporting each other on their respective stages.
Kelce was a common sight at Swift’s Eras tour stops since the announcement. Even at the Singapore stop on the Eras tour, right on cue, Kelce was there to support his beloved. And in between her shows in Australia, the couple took some time to unwind and rekindle their romance with a low-key vacation in Sydney. More recently, Kelce took his turn on the stage when he made his debut during the Style singer’s set, putting on a show for London concertgoers.
In the stands, Swift was crowned best cheerleader whenever she attended Kelce’s matches. She even watched as the Kansas City Chiefs snagged the Super Bowl title in 2024.
The Calm Before The (Swift) Storm
Earlier this year, though, the couple’s love life came under scrutiny when they were accused of having a “fauxmance”. But little did fans know that major plans were in the works, at least according to Kelce. After close to two years of romance, Swift put all rumours to shame when she appeared as a guest on New Heights, where she exclusively unveiled her upcoming album The Life Of A Showgirl. And mere weeks later, Kelce sealed the deal with his romantic proposal to Swift.
While much remains to be seen about how the couple’s nuptials will unfold—will we see Swift’s mega celebrity posse in attendance?—one thing is clear: Swift’s got her lover, and they’re not going anywhere.
