She’s a world-class tennis champion who went viral for dominating the courts, and now, Naomi Osaka is taking “mother” to a literal level. The 25-year-old has reportedly delivered a baby girl with musician partner Cordae, after dropping the news of her pregnancy earlier this year.
Osaka announced her pregnancy in classic Gen-Z fashion, with a sonogram-‘gram, and a heartfelt paragraph drafted on her Notes app. Clarifying that she will not be swapping racquets for nappies completely, the news comes after the tennis professional took a brief break from the sport to manage her mental health in 2021. In the post, the four-time Grand Slam singles champion reflected on her tennis career stating, “Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023”, and “One thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone, ‘That’s my mom'”.
Last month, the Japanese-Haitian native revealed the gender of her baby by sharing images of her baby shower celebration, which was complete with a backdrop embellished with the statement, “A little princess is on the way”.
We can’t wait to hear more about her journey as a first-time parent and to find out more about her new bundle of joy. Congratulations, Naomi!
