You might have heard of a new K-pop girl group in town named Meovv. But who are they, exactly?

Pronounced meow (yes, like the sound a cat makes), Meovv is an up-and-coming act that will soon make its debut under The Black Label. For context, The Black Label is a South Korean record label founded in 2015 by producers Teddy and Kush.

While there’s no official confirmation just yet, Meovv is believed to be a five-member group. It comprises Ella Gross, Gawon, Sooin, Anna, and Narin.

Below, we bring you through each of the members of Meovv to get to know them better.

Ella Gross

“I remember nothing but the destination I was heading to. Which is why I just got here.”

Born Ella McKenzie Gross, Ella is a half-Korean and half-German singer and child model. She’s definitely no stranger to cameras and the entertainment scene, as she started modelling at two years old.

Despite her young age, media outlets have lauded her for her looks. Some have likened her to actress Song Hye-kyo, while others coined her the nickname baby Jennie, for her resemblance to the Blackpink member.

Gawon

“If I were to choose between the two, I already know my answer.”

Gawon is a South Korean-American trainee and model under The Black Label. And she’s officially the second member of Meovv to be revealed to the public.

Standing tall at a whooping 174cm, some fans have praised her for her proportions. Others were baffled at her choice of stage name, as she opted for Gawon, instead of her English name Chloe.

Sooin

“I think we are friends.”

Sooin is also a trainee under The Black Label, but also a former student of the prestigious School of Performing Arts Seoul (SOPA). Upon the release of the trailer video, some fans commented that she resembles Krystal Jung, and South Korean actress Park Min-young.

Anna

“I will pick up the phone at the convenience store tonight.”

Anna is a Toyama-born trainee, model and actress currently under The Black Label. Even before her official debut, she modelled with Japanese-publication Seventeen Japan. She was their exclusive model from October 2019 to December 2021.

In her cryptic trailer video, we see her mostly in a school compound before transitioning into a mysterious convenience store.

Narin

“By chance, I got a cool item from a vending machine then I found myself in my backyard.”

Narin is the fifth member, and supposedly the last, to make up the group. In the video, she plays Barbie by selecting the hairstyles and outfits she’d like to be in.

The 17-year-old is also believed to be the group’s rapper, as she flaunted some verses towards the end of the trailer video.
